Bo Rangers are going into their fifth Premier League tie hosting East End Tigers this afternoon at the Bo stadium, in search of their first win.

The club fans are desperate to witness the end to a run of defeats, kick off at exactly 4:30 PM.

After four straight defeat the Southern-based club are now in danger of relegation standing first from bottom in the top-flight standings.

The country’s second largest city football team has been struggling since the start of the 2019 campaign, recorded two straight home defeats to FC Kallon and Central Parade respectively.

No joy for the Rangers away from home as well, losing to Ports Authority at the Approved School complex and, East End Lions leaving their fans growing frustrated.

Today’s matchday five against the Tigers has been dubbed by some fans as a fresh start.

“We cannot afford another defeat. Obviously, it is possible because this is football. But, victory is just what is needed to kick start our season.”

“If I am honest, the team has been complacent as they’ve not been taking their chances. However, I hope everything goes in our favour today,” Rangers fan, who wants to remain anonymous noted.

The Tigers, on the other hand, standing seventh after two wins and two defeats, have been good away from home.

They beat RSLAF and Freetown City FC on the road respectively but, after their last defeat to Mighty Blackpool, this contest can go both ways.

The Tigers are without a head coach after former coach Chernor Mansaray handed the club’s executive his resignation.

Musa Jalloh and Ansu Bangura in charge hoping to guide the team to their first win under their supervision.

The Tigers top scorer Baimba Sesay will be a pivotal figure. After his impressive two goals will be eyeing to increase his tally and keep the chase for top scorer award.

East End Tigers are without Tamba Marrah, Abdul Bangura, Abu Bakarr Bangura and Morris Kamara

Joint-top striker Baimba Sesay relishes Blackpool test

East End Tiger’s Baimba Sesay says Mighty Blackpool will be a difficult test on Saturday but, the striker is eagerly waiting to face the western giants.

Already three games into the season, the Tigers striker is a joint top scorer with two goals.

His 75th-minute goal on Wednesday against Freetown City FC at the Attouga Mini-stadium tallied him with the likes of Ibrahim Dixon of Central Parade, Abu Komeh of FC Kallon and Foday Mansaray aka Ballack of Ports Authority.

“Honestly, we are going up against one of the best teams in the country Mighty Blackpool,” Sesay to club’s media.

“However, for an upcoming player like myself that can only be a good thing.”

“I am thankful for having good teammates around me, without them, it will be difficult having opportunities.”

The game will kick off at exactly 4:30 PM at the Lungi Central Playing field.
This is Sesay’s first season in the Sierra Leone top-flight football.

Meanwhile, East End Tigers skipper is part of the squad to face Blackpool for the first time this season.

Amos Walker has been out due to a minor injury, the club has confirmed.

Sallia Fawundu knows his club Mighty Blackpool must win on Saturday to ease the pressure and start to salvage their season.

The ‘Tis Tas boys’ will tackle in-form East End Tigers, currently fifth on six points at the Lungi Central Playing field at exactly 4:30.

Sierra Leone’s most decorated are still without a win this season in the Premier League losing two of their three matches played.

Under Pressure coach, Abu Sankoh was set-aside due to the team’s poor results losing to rivals East End Lions and FC Kallon.

The club standing second from bottom announced that Sankoh’s assistant, Mohamed Jabbie will be in charge for the game against the East End Tigers.

East End Tigers, on the contrary, have only lost once out of three winning twice.

The Tigers, however, lost their first home game against Kamboi Eagles but their leading scorer Baimba Sesay is targeting more when he face Blackpool.

Sesay has taken his tally to two goals from three matches for the Tigers with his 75th-minute goal, against Freetown City FC at the Attouga Mini-stadium on Wednesday.

“Blackpool’s events of the pitch have unfortunately exhibited the outcomes on the pitch. It is highly unfortunate that the coach, Abu Sankoh has been made a scapegoat though,” Fawundu told Football Sierra Leone.

“Blackpool in all games so far has absolutely shown intricate midfield play and, composure. The results against FC Kallon and Lions games don’t show the tale of the player’s resolve and spirit.”

“For me, this Saturday is a must-win match as it’s not too late to salvage this season,” Fawundu explained.

“A hat-trick of victories, we should be in the hunt for glory again in the league. It’s inconceivable that we haven’t scored three games into the season, so I’m looking forward to victory in Lungi.”

The Blackpool agog fan also sends a message to the club’s management.

“The Executive need to manage the expectations of the players and fans alike. Instead of talking to the fans especially, should be engaging them. There is a disconnection at the moment and, it is spilling over unto the pitch.”

One of the eye-catching midweek contests in the Sierra Leone Premier League will be played at the Circular road Parade ground when Central Parade welcome Mighty Blackpool in Freetown.

Host Parade FC notably scored twice against Anti-Drugs as they announced their intention last weekend at the Approved School playing field.

Giant Mighty Blackpool, on the other hand, despite their fancy football succumbed to bitter rivals East End Lions 1-0 in the league’s opener.

However, they will be going into this midweek contest aiming at nothing but a victory.

Ibrahim Wilson, who was playing the top-flight league for the first time admitted that his side will be hoping to triumph against the Tis Tas Boys.

The league-leading scorer said: “We started well by securing an important win against Anti-Drugs and, I’m optimistic we can do the same against Mighty Blackpool at our home turf”.

On the same day, FC Kallon will hope to secure consecutive wins as they play host to Anti-Drugs at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.

Abu Komeh scored the only goal away in Bo last weekend and, a win for Kallon will keep the pressure on league leaders East End Lions.

Ports Authority last Friday edged their East End rivals Freetown City FC 1-0 at the Siaka Stevens stadium thanks to Donald Wellington’s hard-fought header in the 31st minute.

The Waterfront Boys will play host to Bo Rangers who lost to FC Kallon in their opening home fixture.
