East End Lions maintained their 100% record to stay top after two wins, while there were also wins for Kallon, Port, Parade and Tigers over the weekend.
The Killers strengthened their grip at the top after 1-0 victory over Old Edwardians on Saturday evening at the Siaka Steven Stadium, while there were also wins for Central Parade, East End Tigers on the same day.
Abdul Baimba Sesay’s fine goal was enough for East End Tigers to beat RSLAF at the Wusum stadium in Makeni.
At the Approved School Complex, Central Parade formerly Senegal FC eased past Anti-Drugs with a brace from Ibrahim Wilson.
Elsewhere on Friday, Khari Abu Komeh scored the only goal the Kallon FC away from home at the Bo stadium, while Kamboi Eagles scored a controversial goal to cancel out Omega Thoronka’s opener for Diamond Stars at the Kenema town field.
In Freetown on the same day, the Waterfront boys narrowly beat Freetown City FC with the only goal scored by Daniel Wellington.
Controversy in Kenema
Centreman Conrad S Taylor was spotted under medical care after being allegedly struck by an object from the crowd in Kenema following Kamboi Eagles equaliser.
He later continued with his officiating under a tense atmosphere but, there were no further troubles, Football Sierra Leone understands.

East End Tigers on Friday announced the appointment of Hon Ibrahim Aziz Bangura of Constituency 076 as club’s vice-president.
His appointment comes during the club’s sponsorship unveiling ceremony and supporter’s jersey at the Kaffu Bullom Cotton Tree Hall Lungi on Friday.
Chairman Victor Lewis welcomed Hon Bangura, who he described as a nobleman that has been doing great in his Constituency.
“Hon Ibrahim Aziz Bangura is the new club Vice President and, the club is delighted to confirm,” Chairman Victor Lewis told this medium.
Reacting to his appointment, Hon Bangura detailed he appreciated the recognition from the executive of EE Tigers.
“I’m privileged to be recognised and, I’ll do my best to help fine tune the club to reach a higher height in the near future.”
Hon Bangura, who is a Member of Parliament has been a football philanthropist and a football loving fan.
He has been yearning for a strong football team around his Constituency.
Hon Bangura will assume office immediately and has promised to work assiduously in the club’s interest.
In a related development, Augustine M Kambo has also named the clubs general manager with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, EE Tigers kick-off their 2019 campaign with an away game at the Wusum Mini-stadium against RSLAF later this afternoon.

Bo Rangers set for Sierra Leone Premier League opener
The second largest stadium in the South of Sierra Leone will host it first 2019 Premier League match between Bo Rangers and Kallon FC.
The match kicks off at 16:30 pm today.
FC Kallon travels to the South to kick start their season at the 25,000 capacity Bo mini-stadium.
Both coaches are optimistic ahead of kick-off, speaking to Football Sierra Leone Rangers technician ‘Kfoot’ Alimamy Sheku Turay has said his charges are well aware of Kallon FC threats.
He outlined that his boys are ready, focused and in good sharp to showcase their talent.
“We know is going to be a tough test after a long time but our lads are ready and they are in a much better sharp physically and mentally.”
“We are targeting a home victory,” coach Kfoot reassured Rangers fans.
The Rangers technical team are boosting to have one of the best defences in the league.
Coach Turay will be calling on star players like Amadu Mansaray, skipper Morie Alie, Abubakarr Koroma to name a few.
Kallon FC, on the other hand, Coach Charlie Wright has said the contest will be a fresh start in their quest to replicate 2006 winning season.
“It is going to be a fresh start for us playing away against one of the best in the Southern region,” Wright told FSL.
Coach Wright added, “We are fully prepared to give a good account of ourselves and hopefully, we can take home the maximum point.”
“Bo Rangers is a good side but, we know all about their danger players and it’s going to a good opener.”
Elsewhere, Kamboi Eagles will open their season against 2013 winners Diamond Stars at their Kenema town playing field kick-off 16:30.
At the Siaka Steven Stadium, Freetown City FC battles Waterfront Boys Port Authority the 2008 league winner in another opening cracker.
The Premier kicked off last weekend in grand style as East End Lions defeated Mighty Blackpool 1-0 at the Siaka Steven Stadium with over 35,000 grace the occasion.

In front of a jam-packed national Stadium in Freetown, the East End giant ‘Killers’ got off their 2019 Sierra Leone Premier season in a positive footing.
Coach Abu Sankoh’s side was defeated 1-0 at the Siaka Steven Stadiums on Sunday evening.
The host started the match with a scintillating performance but missed a couple of chances.
EE Lions after some poor defensive display, however, scored the game’s opener in the 23rd minute through Alhassan Koroma, who was awarded man of the match.
Koroma’s 23rd minute was a sublime finish after a terrible mistake by the Blackpool defence in the18 yard box.
The 2014 league leaders EE Lions produced an impressive display to hold on to their one-goal lead. It was a mouth-watering encounter between the Tis Tas Boys and The Killers.
The Tis Tas Boys took the game to the Killers in the second half as well with few more chances but were unable to break the deadlock and ended up losing their first match of the new season.
Mighty Blackpool finished the match with ten men after Ibrahim Tommy was sent off after a second yellow in added time.
Many pundits and Sierra Leoneans described the 2019 league season as a rebirth of the country’s football after almost five years without competitive football in the country due to the internal wrangling at the Sierra Leone Football Association.
Supporters across the country put on their teams’ jerseys to show how much they missed the game they love so much and further displayed their adoration for football.
East End Lions’ technician coach John Keister expressed his delight at the performance of his boys, describing it as “teamwork”.
“I came into a job where for me it’s a transition because young and, valuable players are coming into the team”.
“We set our priorities right to win games and it worked out for us today. We are building a team for the future”.

Sierra Leone Premier League clubs have been handed a huge boost ahead of the much-talked-about 2019 football season after the League Board presented changing boards, sets of nets to all participating teams.
Nine player changing boards and nine sets of nets were presented to the thirteen (13) top-tier clubs by the Premier Board to be used across nine venues commencing Sunday 27 January.
The main venues are Freetown National Stadium, Makeni Wusum Stadium, Kenema Town min-stadium, Bo multi-purpose stadium and Eastern Province Kono 10,500 soccer field.
In a related development, business Guru and football philanthropist, Ibrahim Jalloh, contributed two full sets of jerseys to each of the 13 Sierra Leone top-flight clubs.
The Premier Board Chairman, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, who has been zealously working 24/7 in certifying a smooth transition after almost five years without a League, stated the Board is seeking best facilities for the smooth running of the League.
“The board is still seeking tireless means to bring more dynamics to the game, and if they do, will be for the benefit of all.”
“We’re are still using the funds provided to us by the government and still knocking on the doors of more sponsors who could come on board and make this league a success”, the human rights barrister detailed.
Clubs officials in attendance expressed gratitude to what they highlighted as a step in the right direction by the PLB for the good of the game.
In another development, the full fixtures of the two-legged premier league were shared out to the club representatives and journalists thereafter.

Former Olimpija Ljubljana attacking midfielder Julius Gibrilla Wobay is set to lead East End Lions as club’s captain ahead of the Sierra Leone Premier League kick-off this Sunday.
Kick-off 1800 hours GMT at the Siaka Steven Stadium.
The East End giant club will go toe to toe against Mighty Blackpool, the only Sierra Leone club to have reached the quarter-final of CAF continental competition.
Wobay, 34, who last month retired from international football, will continue his trade with his boyhood club.
“As you already know, I was the club’s captain before leaving in 2003. I’m not a new player at the club,” the experience attacking midfielder noted.
The last edition of the Premier League was suspended through the season in 2014 because of the Ebola epidemic.
East End Lions was topping the 2014 campaign prior to its suspension.
During his professional career, he traded with nine clubs outside Sierra Leone since 2004 when he departed EE Lions to join Onisilos Sotira in Cyprus.
On the international level, Wobay was one of the longest-serving players in the history of the Sierra Leone national team having played for the Leone Stars for 17 years.
Meanwhile, at a grand ceremony with top East End Lions dignitaries, the club unveiled it 2019 jersey live over AYV Sierra Leone TV today.
