Víkingur Ólafsvík unveiled Ibrahim Sorie Barrie
Icelandic side Víkingur Ólafsvík have completed the loan signing of Sierra Leone midfielder Ibrahim Sorie Barrie from FC Kallon.
Barrie, 21, was the hero when Cameroon became the first big nation to be kicked out of the 2016 Olympic Games football qualifiers in Africa May 2015 in Yaoundé.
The versatile midfielder, who skippered Sierra Leone and scored the goal in the 93rd minute that eliminated Cameroon, will play this season with the Icelandic second-tier side.
Barrie will team up with fellow Sierra Leone and national player Kwame Quee, who played with the club last season following a two-year loan deal.
Ólafsvík new acquisition was also part of the FC Johansen side that was eliminated by Moroccan side FUS Rabat in the 2017 CAF Champions League qualifiers in February 2017.
Barrie has earned over 4 caps with Sierra Leone.
Ghanaian midfielder, Manuel Eli Keke from Dreams FC also signed on a three-year deal.
Víkingur Ólafsvík relegated last season from the Úrvalsdeild top-flight league.

The Shooting Stars of Sierra Leone have been paired with Guinea Bissau in the 2019 U20 AFCON preliminary qualifiers.
Guinea Bissau will host Sierra Leone between March 30 and April 1 with the return leg in Freetown on the weekend of April 20-22.
According to the fixtures released by Confederation of African Football (CAF), the winner between Sierra Leone and Guinea Bissau will face the Flying Eagles of Nigeria.
Zambia, Guinea, Nigeria, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Libya, Cote d’Ivoire and Sudan have been handed a bye in the initial qualifying round.
The Flying Eagles will then play away to the overall winners of this first round clash on May 11, 12 or 13 with the return leg in Nigeria a week later.
The overall winners of this clash will then feature in a final playoff which could involve Morocco/Mauritania or Guinea.
This final U20 AFCON qualifier is billed for July. The final tournament will be hosted by Niger in 2019 with the four semi-finalists qualifying for the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup, whose host will be announced next month.

FK Kaisar midfielder John Kamara has relished the competition in the squad ahead of the new season.
With some new addition to their squad, the Sierra Leone international will have to keep proving himself if he is to play a pivotal role for Kazakhstan top-tier side.
However, he was a key player in the Kaisar squad last season.
Kamara, 29, who is presently in Turkey with his club on preseason said: “You need a good competition because for me I don’t like comfort zone and that’s the last thing you need in a squad.
“This season is going to be a lot of competition all over which is good, it keeps me on my toes and it gives the manager a headache every week.
“Last season was a good year after 30 league appearances; I have thoroughly enjoyed playing here despite we ended up sixth,” Kamara to Football Sierra Leone.
“I’m hoping to continue in good form – Pre-season has been great I have played in six pre-season friendlies.”
The defender-midfielder recently sealed a new one-year deal.
FK Kaisar will kick-off the 2018 league campaign on Sunday, March 11 hosting FC Aktobe at the TBD stadium.

Goals from Kei Kamara and Alphonso Davies aided Vancouver Whitecaps to a 2-1 win over LA Galaxy on Saturday night in their preseason finale at the StubHub Center.
The Sierra Leone native, Kamara scored Whitecaps first from a spot-kick in the 20th minutes.
The new ‘Caps striker sent Galaxy keeper David Bingham the wrong way, as he directed his shot down the centre of the goal to score his team-leading fourth goal of the preseason.
The ‘Caps were awarded the penalty kick after Cristian Techera was brought down by Galaxy midfielder Joao Pedro.
Ghanaian-born winger Alphonso Davies doubled the visitors lead in the 52nd minute.
The Galaxy pulled one back in the 66th minute, courtesy of a Giovani dos Santos penalty kick after the referee judged ‘Caps left back Marcel de Jong to have blocked Alessandrini’s bicycle kick attempt with his arm.
The Canadian-based team will kick-off the 2018 MLS campaign on Sunday, March 4 against Montreal Impact at BC Place.

Sodertalje FK new acquisition Fayia Kobba has admitted that this season must be a step up in his career.
The former FC Kallon and Kamboi Eagles attacker, who signed a year deal with the Swedish Division 2 Norra Svealand side, will be a vital player for Andreas Haddad squad in the new campaign.
“I have to get my approach right because it is important for me. I’m ready to take the next step up in my career,” he passionately told Football Sierra Leone.
“My aim is to take my game to a new level this season and see what happens next.”
Kobba, 21, added, “I can’t wait to get started – is going to be an exciting season with a new team.”
“But, it feels good to be among the group and become part of the SFK squad.”
“Fayia is a very good prospect, who can score goals. He is fast and good with his head, but also can be positive defensively,” A statement on club’s website.
In Sweden, he first played for Örebro U19 and U21 and in 2017; he played for Huddinge IF, where he scored six goals last season.
Former Sierra Leone coach Johnny Mckinstry once named Kobba in his squad against Swaziland in both legs during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in 2014.
The youngster was also in the Sierra Leone U20 side against Guinea and Ghana in the CAF African Youth Championship matches.
