The Sierra Leone international is fifth in the all-time MLS scoring list with 124 goals.
Kansas City was in front with a goal from Fernandes Gerso after only three minutes, and the hosts had doubled their lead 11 minutes later when Rapids’ Tommy Smith turned the ball into his net while pressured by Krisztian Nemeth.
Colorado Rapids level the score-line from a Diego Rubio goal in the 76th minute from 16 yards, assisted by Smith, before Smith sealed the victory for Colorado with an 85th-minute header from a Price assists.
The Rapids next MLS outing is against Dallas on Sunday, and Sporting Kansas City’s next match is Wednesday on the road at Minnesota United.

Sierra Leone striker Mustapha Bundu accounted for Aarhus GF opener in front of over 10000 fans as they picked up their fifth win in a row on Friday night.
It was his fifth this season in ten matches for the Whites. Goals from Bundu and Mustafa Amini in the 28th and 80th minutes respectively, were enough as AGF move up to third in the Danish Super Liga standings.
Bundu’s goal was the only goal in the first half. However, after the restart, the home team started the second half as they finished the first 45 minutes pilling pressure on their visitors, and it paid off in the 67-minute.
The AGF defence had to surrender from a free-kick from the left side to the back post brought Moses Opondo leveller.
A couple of minutes later, Bundu was again presented with another chance but was unable to make it count.
Australian star Mustafa Amini registered the match-winner 10 minute to full time his left-footed shot proved pivotal for the visitors.
AGF’s next 3F Super League match is against FC Nordsjælland in matchday 11 on September 29 at Ceres Park.

119-goal-scorer Kei Kamara missed penalty extended Colorado Rapids winless to eight against Real Salt Lake in a 3-2 defeat on Saturday night in Colorado.
The Rapids set a new MLS record for the worst 11-game start to a season.
It was a game that has everything, as fans witnessed two penalties, a red card overturned to a yellow, three video reviews, a goal waved offside, in a five goals contest.
Goals from Albert Rusnak and Corey Baird gave the visitors the lead in the 25th and 27th minutes respectively. The home pulls one back just before the break by Kellyn Acosta.
The first half ended 2-1 in favour of the visitors. Back from recess, the home side levelled the scoresheet through Danny Wilson on the 47th minutes.
Former Valerenga forward Sam Johnson scored in 53rd minutes to give Real Salt Lake the much-needed victory. With Sierra Leone international Kei Kamara missing from the penalty spot what could have been the equalizer.

Kei Kamara scored a brace as Colorado Rapids’ miserable 2019 stretch continued on Friday after another 3-2 defeat against Vancouver Whitecaps at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. (Photo: USA Today Sports Images).
The Whitecaps scored in their opener in the 16 minutes through Fredy Montero, who received a pass and cut through the Rapids defence before slotting in a low shot.
The visitors doubled their lead 10 minutes later, Lucas Venuto opened his MLS account with a tap-in off Montero’s low cross.
Interim boss Conor Casey watched his side fought hard for a comeback with goals from Kei Kamara who scored in the 38th minutes to reduce the deficit.
His first goal came after Montero brought down Kellyn Acosta and a penalty was awarded. Kamara scored his second following another penalty a few minutes into the second half.
Kamara stepped up again in the 53rd to score his second spot-kick of the night taking his tally to seven of the season.
The Rapids’ ended the contest with 10 men after midfielder Diego Rubio was sent off in the 77th minutes for violent conduct.
Their revival finally hit a road bump in the 87th minute when Whitecaps substitute Andy Rose accounted for the winner following a late run into the box.
He scored from a Bangoura’s deflected pass sliding through the defence to win the game for the visitors.

Kei Kamara’s goal against Orlando City in their 4-3 defeat has moved him ahead of Ante Razov in the exclusive Major League all-time top scorer list.
The Sierra Leone international was again on the score-sheet in their seven-goal thriller. Orlando needed to come from behind twice against the Rapids to win.
He accounted for his 115th goals in his MLS career after he capitalized on an Orlando mistake at the back to make it 1-0 in the 9th minute.
History!
A huge 9th-minute opener pushed Kamara up to fifth on the all-time goals scored list in the MLS. However, former Manchester United winger Nani scored his first-ever MLS goal in the 32nd minute, heading at the back post to cancel out Kamara’s opener.
Orlando’s Tesho Akindele double their lead in the 33rd and, after the break, Nicolas Mezquida scored the visitors’ equaliser in the 61 st minutes.
The game was far from over with three more goals in an exciting atmosphere at the Orlando City Stadium in front of 22,450 on a rainy night.
Cole Bassett curly home a left-footed beauty to make it 3-2 in the 71st for the Rapids. Orlando City’s Chris Mueller, who was subbed on, impressively slotted home in the 82nd, only for Nani to bag the eventual game-winner in the 89th minute on a penalty kick.

Striker Augustus Kargbo was delighted to return to first-team action as his Serie B side FC Crotone played to a 2-2 draw against Lecce on Sunday.
The youngster from Sierra Leone has been out with a fracture of the metacarpal on his left hand.
Kargbo, 19, since his injury in February, has been forced to stay out for two weeks.
Against Lecce last weekend he was introduced in the 51st minute on his return.
After the match, he was praised for his immediate impact as they fourth hard for an equaliser through A Benali in the 79th minutes.
“I am very happy to be back,” he said. “I suffered the injury to my hand and, my limb was immobilized.”
“I was not able to play but was able to train regularly with my classmates to keep my physical form unchanged,” Kargbo to the club’s website.
“I am very happy to be back, the draw was a good result and allows us to give continuity to our results,” the youngster reiterated.
Kargbo made his Serie B debut against Citadela in January 2019 at the Ezio Scida Municipal Stadium.
