Madagascar secure CHAN third place over Niger

Madagascar secure CHAN third place over Niger

Madagascar striker Jean Razafindrakoto hit a late goal to give them a hard-fought 1-0 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) win against Niger on Friday to clinch third place in the competition, CAF reports.

Razafindrokoto scored the winner in the 90th minute to seal the win at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in the Algerian city of Oran.

The win capped a pleasing first CHAN tournament for the Berea, who stunned several favourites on their path to the third-place playoff match.

Goalkeeper Mahamadou Djibo could have done better in dealing with a shot from substitute Tendry Manovo a few minutes before the end of the match.

Razafindrokoto scored what turned out to be the winner after Djibo deflected a shot from Manovo into the path of the forward, who accepted the gift.

Tambuti midfielder Issa Serry happy with current form

Sierra Leone-born Swaziland-based midfielder Issa Serry has revealed that he’s happy with his current form for Tambuti despite their position in Eswatini’s top-tier league.

After making fourteen appearances, Serry has become one of the most impressive midfielders in the present campaign and has put it down to his teammates understanding him – a lot more.

“I am pleased with my present form as a professional in the Premier League of Eswatini(Swaziland. As a winger, this is the best run I have had in 14 games scored six goals and four assists since I joined the club,” Serry, 21, who can play on both wings, told FSL News.

“Our position is not the best in the league at the moment, but we are confident of claiming the table in the next round.” My current form is also down to my teammates.

“The fact remains, regardless of our position, we have a team capable of turning our season around. We are fully motivated.” We are all looking forward to the second round of this season.”

Tambuti‘s standing second from the bottom eight points from fourteen matches after their 3-1 defeat to fellow Sierra Leone Mohamed Kabia side Mbabane Swallows on Thursday.

Striker Musa Kamara returns to Bo Rangers on loan

Striker Musa Kamara returns to Bo Rangers on loan

Libyan club Al Ittihad striker Musa Noah Kamara is to join Bo Rangers on a six-month loan deal, Football Sierra Leone understands.

Bo Rangers are yet to make any official statement. However, a reliable source has confirmed this.

Al Ittihad announced Kamara’s capture in September last year on a free transfer after his contract with the reigning Sierra Leone champions was terminated.

The 22-year-old, who was unsettled upon his arrival in Libyan, has yet to play any match in the Libyan Premier League. He has been without active football for six months, but a loan move could revitalise his playing career.

Before his move, he was the Sierra Leone Premier League’s best player and top scorer. Kamara, who helped Rangers with 19 goals to win their first league title in 68 years, was part of the Sierra Leone side during the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The striker is a back-to-back golden boot winner – the Rangers striker is the first local star to achieve this milestone. He first won the 2019 Sierra Leone National Premier League with 15 goals with then-champions East End Lions.

He scored the first goal that helped to revive Sierra Leone to a 2-2 draw against the Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations group stage at the Japoma Stadium in January.

Kamara penned his first professional contract in 2019 with Swedish club Trelleborgs FF on a three-and-a-half-year deal in August 2019 but cancelled his contract after a week.
