Sierra Leone coach Keister monitors Barnet defender David Sesay

Sierra Leone coach Keister monitors Barnet defender David Sesay

Sierra Leone coach John Keister is monitoring the situation of Barnet defender David Sesay, Football Sierra Leone understands.

Sesay, who has attracted interest from Kenya since 2019, is also qualified for Sierra Leone via his dad.

The Brent-born came through the Watford FC academy before penning a permanent deal with League Two side Crawley Town in 2018.

Sesay, hailing from a Sierra Leonean father and a Kenyan mother in the UK, is also eligible to play for England.

Two years ago, several reports claimed he was in line to represent Kenya during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, but the plan failed to work out.

This medium has confirmed Sesay will be included in the next international friendlies for Sierra Leone ahead of next year’s Cup of Nations in Cameroon, hoping the player to decide his international future in favour of the West African nation.

Sesay, 22, has been a pivotal player since joining the National League side, Barnet.

Head Coach Victoria Conteh has curtailed her squad to 25 players after the initial 42 invited for trials. The former East End Tigers coach has continued training at the Bo Stadium located in the Southern part of Sierra Leone.

The contest has been billed to be played on Saturday, 25th September in Guinea and October 9, 2021, at home in the return leg.

CAF will have two representatives for the final tournament of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022.

Two more rounds will follow, with two teams representing Africa in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022.

Meanwhile, the Black Princesses have advanced to the next stage of the African U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers following Mauritania’s withdrawal from the qualifiers.

Both nations were slated to battle it out in the second round qualifiers on September 25 and the return leg set for October 9.

Mustapha Bundu makes AGF Aarhus debut in win over Vejle Boldklub

Sierra Leone winger Mustapha Bundu made his second AGF AGF Aarhus debut in 1-0 win Vejle BK on Sunday at home in Ceres Park, having replaced Frederik Tingager in the 46th minute.

After a goalless first-half in their Danish Superliga match, the host scored through Mikael Neville Anderson in the 60th minute as they held on to their first win of the season.

A couple of times in the second half, the visitors came to slightly fewer opportunities than in the first – in return, the host pressed more to stop their visitors.

In the end, it was a good home win for Bundu, who was on to start his second stint with the Danish side.

During his first interview with the club, he appreciated his first spell and noted he is looking forward to a new chapter.

“I’m really looking forward to having the opportunity to come back and play at Ceres Park. The club has not had the best start, and I look forward to helping us get some victories again in front of the fans in Ceres Park,” says Mustapha Bundu.

Bundu joined the cub on a season-long loan from Anderlecht on August 31st in a bid to revive his career.

Carlos Queiroz named new Egypt coach after El-Badry sacking

Carlos Queiroz named new Egypt coach after El-Badry sacking

Egyptian Football Federation has on Wednesday appointed Carlos Queiroz as the new coach following the sacking of Hossam El-Badry.

His appointment came after an unconvincing start to qualifying for the 2022 World Cup under Hossam El-Badry supervision. As a result, the Portuguese will take over from El-Badry, who was dismissed Monday in the wake of a 1-1 draw in Gabon.

The experienced 68-year-old previously managed Real Madrid (2003-04), Iran (2011-19), Colombia (2019-20), and his native Portugal in two different stints (1991-93 and 2008-10).

The African giants are desperately seeking to qualify for a second consecutive FIFA World Cup taking place in Qatar next.

The EFF said Queiroz, a former Manchester United assistant and Real Madrid manager, would be supported by Diaa El-Sayed and long-time former national team goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary on his coaching staff.
