East End Tigers’ Injured keeper appeals for National help

Alhaji Nyelenkeh, who has been on the sideline for almost nine months with a broken left leg, has called on his fellow Sierra Leoneans to come to his aid.

Nyelenkeh suffered a broken left leg during a Premier League contest against Mighty Blackpool on April 18th, 2022, at the Police Field at Kingtom.

In a video message from the keeper, he lamented that he needs help from Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad despite having undergone three operations.

After his first operation in May 2022, doctors reassured the player to return to playing football after ten months. But to date, nine months on, the player’s career is uncertain.

Brima, 23, who signed for the club in July, has been a great addition as they prepare for the remainder of the season in the Championship Group.

He has started in eight league games, two from the bench, a goal and two assists in all competitions.

After the top tier first round of matches was completed, Brima admitted his excitement to do his best for his new side.

“I am excited ahead of the second round of the Gibraltar championship campaign. I am pleased with my all-around performance since I arrived, Brima told Football Sierra Leone.

“I’m relishing the rest of the season’s challenge – I’ll be doing everything I can to help my team get enough points we need to move up the table.”

He added, “It’s great to be actively playing week in and week out – every footballer’s dream.”

Background

“In Sierra Leone, I was playing with Linda Football Club before I moved to Uganda for a year, where I was studying and playing for the School team, Vienna college.

I later moved to the UK to study, and I was on trial with Steven Gerard academy for two years. I won the Dallas Cup with the academy, U19 Youth National League, Everton Cup, and Liverpool County FA Cup.

“I did some trials around the UK with Mansfield Town, Nottingham Forest and Notts County, unfortunately, did not get in because of documents issues and later went back to finish my study in Liverpool.

In 2017 moved to Spain and started playing in the third division with UD San Pedro for two years. In 2019, I signed for San Roque de Lepe but had a bad season. So, I came back to San Pedro.

I played half a season in San Pedro before I signed for Europa Point in Gibraltar national league the following season, where I played half a season. I was sent on loan to St Joseph in January – I played in the Conference League qualification round, but we got knocked out by Salvia Page.

This season, I signed with Lynx Football club.”

Reading boss Ince reveals Tyrese Fornah injury setback

Reading boss Ince reveals Tyrese Fornah injury setback

Reading manager Paul Ince has revealed loanee Tyrese Fornah could be out for two or three weeks after sustaining a knee injury in training on Monday.

Paul Ince confirmed this while speaking to the Reading Chronicle during his post-match conference on Tuesday.

The Sierra Leone native has been instrumental for the Royals since his loan move from Nottingham Forest.

Fornah was not part of the Reading side that defeated Swansea City 2-1 on Tuesday due to a knock he sustained prior that would keep him out for weeks.

“Ty [Tyrese Fornah] got a knock on his knee. So, he could be two or three weeks out,” Ince noted.

He did that yesterday (Monday). Aesthetically, you look at the side. Now it gives you a bit more of a buzz. It gives me a selection problem, and that’s what you want as a manager.

Onwards and upwards. I’m very pleased, a great result, but we have to keep going.”
