Turkish club Kiremithane Spor sign Sierra Leone International Simbo

Turkish side Adana Kiremithane Spor has confirmed the signing of free agent Sierra Leone international David Simbo on a one-year contract.

The move was announced on the club’s official Twitter account on Wednesday.

Simbo last season traded his football with another Turkish side Eskisehirs Kutuluspor.

The 28-year-old is delighted after completed the switch according to him he is ready to help the club in their promotion quest.

“I’m happy to be here and I am looking forward to playing more games, win games and excite the fans with my style of football,” Simbo said, “I’m looking forward to helping the team.”

“I want to thank everyone at Eskisehirs kutuluspor for my time at the club.”

“I’m ready to give my best and I can’t wait to get started,” the Najran and Krumkachy Minsk player told footballsierraleone.net.

Simbo has had spells in Sweden with → Motala (on loan), Trelleborg (on loan), Boden and Sandviken before joining Sudanese top-flight side Al-Hilal in 2014–2015 and later moved to Najran and Krumkachy Minsk in Belarus.

He started his playing career with local club Mighty Blackpool, where he was impressive before moving abroad.

Walsall accept Bristol Rovers’ offer for Amadou Bakayoko

Walsall boss Dean Keates has confirmed that Amadou Bakayoko is on his way out after the club accepted a bid for the striker.

The deal we understand to be completed earlier next week by fellow League One rivals Bristol Rovers.

Sierra Leone-born forward was not part of the Walsall’s 2–1 winning squad at home over Plymouth on Saturday in the season’s opener.

The striker, 22, was the subject of a bid earlier this transfer window from Accrington Stanley but the newly promoted League 1 side failed to meet the Saddlers’ valuation.

Some sources suggest that Walsall will likely receive £100,000 – £150,000 with add-ons should Baka improve at Rovers and goes onto bigger things.

Bakayoko spent last season as Walsall’s first-choice striker, scoring eight goals in all competitions.

The former Southport, Telford and Worcester forward, was named the Saddlers’ 2016/17 Young Player of the Season.

The powerful frontman impressed for Walsall at youth level and received his first professional contract during the 2013/14 season.

He scored a hat-trick on his full Saddlers debut a 5-2 Checkatrade Trophy victory over Grimsby in August 2016 – and went on to plunder a further seven goals that campaign.

Players Abroad: New candidates emerge for Sierra Leone debut

As the English Champions kick-off, a potential debutant for Sierra Leone in Ethiopia Osman Kakay has played full-time in Queens Park Rangers 1-0 away defeat to Preston at the Deepdale Stadium this afternoon.

The Championship is the second tier of English football.

Steve McClaren’s return to management ended in disappointment as his side went down at Preston North End.

However, the defender (Kakay) has been a regular under the former England manager throughout pre-season.

He made his debut in QPR’s 2-1 victory over Rochdale in the EFL Cup tie in August 2016.

His first professional debut was in the Scottish Championship in January during a loan spell with Scottish side Livingston.

In Scotland, he played 12 times for Livingston. Kakay, 20 is a promising talent and Sierra Leone Coach John Keister must spoil for choices if he decides to bring in new youthful and fresh faces to his already competitive squad.

Another interesting inclusion could be Crystal Palace attacking winger Sullay Kaikai, who is also a youth product of the Selhurst London-based club.

Kaikai made his debut in the Premier League for Crystal Palace on the last day of the 2015/2016 season against Southampton.

The 20-year old striker was introduced to replace English defender Jordon Mutch in their 4-1.

Crystal Palace fans recently praised Kaikai, who was born in the London to parents hailing from Sierra Leone, after his impressive performance during their Scandinavian trip defeating Halmstads BK on July 16.

Palace won 6-1 in pre-season, with Kaikai coming off the bench to impress.

The youngster replaced Christian Benteke early on in the tie, and his display caught the eyes of many fans and soccer pundits.

He scored and provided an assist as Palace strolled to success.

In Denmark, another new face Mustapha Bundu recorded his season’s first goal for Danish top tier club Aarhus GF in their 1-0 victory over SønderjyskE.

He told football Sierra Leone, “I’m happy with the goal and hopefully more goals to come this season.”

Meanwhile, the Sierra Leone national recently played to a goalless draw in Liberia and the Leone Stars team mainly dominated by local players.

They face Ethiopian Walias in Hawassa City on September 9 a crucial game for both nations, who will be meeting for the first time at any level.

Tejan Bah happy with his present form in Sweden

Tejan Bah has declared himself ‘happy’ with his form for new Swedish club Vasterhaninge IF after his recovery from a knee operation.

The defensive midfielder, who is trading his football in Sweden with Div. 3 club Vasterhaninge IF, has been described as a hardworking technical player.

He was an impact player with former club Hammarby under 19 and U21 Premier Norra League in Sweden, scoring seven goals from midfield in all competitions in 2015.

The former Nyköpings BIS and Varmdö IF midfielder played among the best youth players at the 2014 Gothia Cup.

He scored a goal against Newcastle at the world’s largest international youth football tournament in Gothenburg.

Bah, who experienced operation last year September because of a minor meniscus is pleased with his progress and recovery.

“Basically I’m just happy with the way everything is going for me at the moment and I’m working hard to rejuvenate my career after a serious injury,” he told footballsierraleone.net.

“I’m getting some recognition again for the way that I’m proving myself on the pitch so I have to be pleased with the way things are going for me.”

“I signed in May and since then I have played 12 games no goal yet but 7 assists and we are top of the league with 29 points,” the midfielder explained.

Bah has never represented Sierra Leone when asked about his intention he said, “The opportunity to represent my country I will cherish.

“I recently trained with coach John Keister when I was on holiday in Sierra Leone last December.”

“I am hoping have done enough to convince the coach.”

“Obviously, it will be an honour to represent my country if given the chance to prove myself.”

AFCON2019: New Ethiopia coach rallies his pack for Sierra Leone

Ethiopia new boss Abraham Mebratu has named a 34-man provisional squad in preparation for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in Hawassa September 9.

The 48-year-old will face a tough test in his first task against a resilient Sierra Leone in the race to Cameroon 2019.

The most notable inclusions are Petrojet midfielder Shemeles Bekele, Smouha SC attacker Omod Okuri, Gatoch Panom of El Gouna all three based in Egypt and forward Getaneh Kebede, who is presently unattached also makes the squad.

Mebratu, who qualified Yemen senior team for the first time to the Asian Cup named a Walias squad mainly dominated of local stars with only four trading their football outside Ethiopia.

The Waliyas will enter residential camp in Hawassa comes August 7.

He is expected to trim the squad to 23 players before his charges take on the Western African nation.

Alhassan Kamara’s Häcken knocked out of Europa League by RB Leipzig

BK Häcken 1-1 RB Leipzig (1-5)  Bravida Stadium – Gothenburg 02/08/2018 – Second qualifying round, 2nd leg.

A 1-1 draw for BK Häcken at the Bravida Stadium against RB Leipzig saw the Gothenburg club knocked out of the Europa League 5-1 on aggregate.

Belgium attacker Massimo Bruno just after the break in a tight second leg encounter scored the match opener in the 47th minute.

Daleho Irandust levelled the scores five minutes to full time but was more like a consolation for the home team.

Sierra Leone striker, Alhassan Crespo Kamara was again unable to find the net.

They lost heavily in Germany last week (4-0) in the first leg first leg second round of the Europa League qualifiers.

“Sad to go out, but we were playing a team that is almost favourites to win the whole Europe League. It was a class game,” says Häcken’s goal scorer Daleho Irandust.

Kamara and his club will now fully turn their attention to their ongoing Allsvenskan where they are standing 10th from fifteen matches winning only five.
