Sierra Leone-born midfielder Ibrahim Kallay (Pictured) scored the winner on Wednesday to help his side win the Swedish DM Cup 2016 at the LF Arena.
The 23-year-old admits his delights after scoring against his former club IFK Lulea to secured a 2-0 victory.
After winning this year’s DM Cup Pitea IF have qualified for next year’s Swedish Cup, an opportunity to face Swedish top flight clubs.
Kallay, who started his career as a youngster with Kamboi Eagles and, after spells with Umea and IFK Lulea, signed for Piteå in 2016, has made fifteen appearances for the Swedish Div One Norra side scoring twice.
“It’s was a great game, happy for the team and I’m delighted to score the winner,” he told this medium after collecting his winners’ medal.
“I knew that the fans wanted us to win the trophy, I did my best to help the team, as always is very difficult playing against a former club (IFK Lulea), but was very happy to score the winning goal,” Kallay repeated.
Kallay in recent months has been left out of the Sierra Leone men’s soccer team, his last played for Leone Stars during the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara rescued a point for BK Hacken away from home with a brace after they suffered a second-half collapse against Gefle on Monday at the Gavlevallen Stadium.
Peter Gerhardsson’s men were in cruise control after the Sierra Leone international gave them the lead in the 21th-minute. But in the second half, an own goal from Swedish international Emil Wahlström in 64′ and M. Rauschenberg 67 minutes goal put the home side ahead.
Before Hacken’s new boy Kamara shone again with a late leveller in the 80th min. This was the 23-year-old fourth Allsvenskan goal for BK Hacken in six appearances since joining the Gothenburg-based the club from Orebro SK on a three-year-deal in July 2016.
Hacken responded well after Kamara’s equaliser, in the last five minutes going for the win – they had several opportunities to win it but failed and the match ended in a draw.

Sierra Leone international Abdul ‘Buduski’ Sesay, has taken his season’s goal tally to 14 and further strengthened his hold on the top scorers’ chart.
The Leone Stars midfielder scored twice in the 18′ and 74′ minutes respectively as they thrashed bottom table side Virkia Lapua 9-0 on Sunday at the Castren Stadium.
Sesay is well determined and on course for the Golden Boot prize at the end of the season.
Teammates Konstantin Belov and Nigerian forward Michael Nzekwe both scored a hat-trick in their nine goals thrashing over league strugglers Lapua.
The in-form Sierra Leone midfielder Sesay has set his sights on twenty goals in a bid to help Oulun Palloseura (OPS) gain promotion this campaign.
They are three points ahead of second place side MuSa FC with three vital games to go.
Sesay, who was an unused substitute in Bouake in the 1-1 draw against the African Champions Ivory Coast during the final 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match, is the OPS leading scorer this season.

Crystal Palace winger Sullay Kaikai is relishing the Amex Stadium challenge this afternoon when Brentford take on Brighton in the Sky Bet Championship encounter.

The 21-year-old hailing from Sierra Leonean parents has revealed his excitement as he prepares for a new dimension in his football career.
The former Shrewsbury Town striker already acknowledging that, he is likely to come in for some abuse from the Brighton supporters because of his Crystal Palace connections.

Finish second-tier side FC Jaro have confirmed that Sierra Leone youngster Foday Fedi Conteh has joined the club until October with an option of extending his contract.
The former East End Lions player was named on the bench in Jaro’s 3-0 win over AC Oulu yesterday away from home at the Raatin Stadium in (Oulu).

FC Jaro signed the winger from Lapua Virkia for an undisclosed fee and is their second transfer deadline day recruit.
The 21-year old is widely considered to be one of Sierra Leone’s promising prospects and has impressed since arriving in Finland.
His preferred position is left midfield but he can also operate on either flank and has been noted for his versatility in Finland.
The former East Lions player and Chelsea Academy FC trialist signed for Lapua Virkia in the Finish third-tier in April 2016
He made 14 appearances for Lapua Virkia and scored three goals.
