Prince Barrie looking forward to Hafia training camp in Morocco

Sierra Leone international, Prince Barrie, says Haifa’s trip to the city of Rabat, Morocco is the ideal way for him to settle quickly into life with his new club.

The attacking midfielder, who signed a two-year deal on Wednesday 27 September with Guinean top-flight side will be in the Hafia’s side departing tonight for Morocco on a two-week training camp, where the team will play three friendly games before the start of the season.

This year’s Guinea national Cup Winner is expected to play three friendly matches (two against the FUS in Rabat and one against the Raja).

Hafia will engage in three competitions next season, the Guinean Championship, the National Cup of Guinea and CAF Confederation Cup.

He told Football Sierra Leone that the trip will provide him with the perfect opportunity to get to know his new teammates.

“I’m happy to be here, I signed a two-year contract with one of Guinea biggest clubs and it feels right,” the former Inter Allies attacking midfielder told footballsierraleone.net.

“I’m so looking forward to this trip. I think the best thing about the trip is that we’re going to Rabat and will be a good time to know my teammates,”

“I played in Ghana for one season and It was ok. I also went to Sweden on trials with AIK in 2015. Now am in Guinea because I was scouted against Senegal during the CHAN preliminary doubleheader in July.

Physically I’m in a good sharp,” the former Inter Allies player added.

The 15 times Guinean Champions will return to Conakry on October 27 and will face Horoya AC the 2017 Champions in the Guinean Super Cup.

The Guinea pro league is expected to start on November 4th.

The three times African Champions was one of the dominant forces in the 1970s.

Hafia promoted some great talents as Papa Camara, Bengally Sylla, Abdoulaye Keita, Chérif Souleymane, Petit Sory, Mamadou Aliou Kéïta, Mory Kone.

Striker Christian Moses delighted to hit goals for his team

He’s been among the goals recently for the Danish NordicBet Liga side, Vendsyssel after joining on loan in January from local side Lion pride.

Sierra Leone-born striker Christian Moses pictured in action was again on the scoresheet in Monday’s 3-1 defeat at home by Esbjerg FB.

However, despite frustrated with his side home defeat, the Lion Pride striker knows how much a goal means to the club and fans.

“I feel great at the moment, thanks to God everything is going on well with me here,” Moses told the footballsierraleone.net.

“I’ve managed to score six goals in 13 League appearances, a good way to announce my arrival I suppose. Overall I’m happy with my effort so far here.

“As a team, we are third position on the table, working towards promotion.”

With eight games to go before the end of the Danish NordicBet Liga first phase, Vendsyssel next outing will be against BK Fremad Amager on Saturday and Moses is excited about helping his side bid to go on a winning run.

“Hopefully, from this Saturday we can put together a run of successive wins and that might help our promotion chase before the league break up.

Morlai Kamara vows to take Lambeth Tigers to higher heights

Former Old Edwardian and Sierra Fisheries winger and attacking midfielder, Morlai B Kamara alias Tboy, is bidding to excel as a coach with Lambeth Tigers junior side.

Kamara, a well-known player in the mid-90’s when he was the skipper of Sierra Fisheries football club.

Though he left Sierra Leone in 2000, Tboy Kamara has always tried to offer his expertise to upcoming players in his capacity as a coach.

The former Sierra Fisheries player was always determined that football would remain a daily part of his life.

Kamara, who guided his side to their first victory defeating Wolves (London) 3-2 on Sunday at Ark Academy, Bridge Road, Wembley said he was pleased with his start.

“I was very pleased with the win, am excited and ready to work, hopefully, will take these boys to a higher height, Kamara passionately told footballsierraleone.net.

“I have decided that after I have spent enough time learning about the game and is time to make a new start and get 100% involved again.”

“My aims and objective are working with the youngsters trying to empowering myself more in football education and sports science.”

“Football is a very broad subject in modern days so the more you learn the more you know and it’s all down to your focus and dedication.”

Kamara, who is passionate about coaching, has his own personal development team called AREA BEST SOCCER DEVELOPMENT age group 10-14s majority, 90% of his players are from Sierra Leonean background and some of the kids play for pro academy clubs.

He added, “I’m dedicated and want to help more young players improve their game and hopefully get some more talented players progressing under my knowledge.”

Lambeth Tigers have already started a new and exciting challenge after it’s Under 14, Under 15 and Under 16 teams accepted into the London Youth Premier League this season.

The league is designed to be a stepping stone between grassroots football and professional academies with pro clubs like Crystal Palace, Cambridge United and Barnet all fielding teams in the league.

Kamara scores match winner in Revs win over Toronto

Sierra Leone international and New England Revolution forward, Kei Kamara, scored his 12th goal of the season, a dramatic match-winning in the Revs’ 2-1 victory over Toronto FC on Saturday, September 23, at Gillette Stadium.

Lee Nguyen had given the home side the lead in the 82′ min but his opener was cancelled by Toronto’s Nicolas Hasler, before Major League veteran striker Kei Kamara scored late on to denied Toronto FC an opportunity to clinch the Supporters’ Shield on Saturday.

Kamara scored the match winner in the 87th minute with a brilliant header off Nguyen’s cross to register his 103 regular season and playoff goals of his MLS career.

The Sierra Leone native is two-goal adrift of becoming the 10th player in MLS league history reach 100 in a regular season.

The winner was his eight since the beginning of July, tied for fourth most among all MLS players in that span.

Striker Buya Turay happy with goal in Örebro SK win

AFC Eskilstuna striker Mahomed Buya Turay was delighted with their 3-2 away victory at the Behrn Arena, Örebro.

The Sierra Leone international, who registered his eighth goal of the season, gave his struggling Allsvenskan AFC Eskilstuna the lead in the opening 7’min on Thursday.

Turay is joint fourth in the Swedish top-flight top scoring chart.

And the 22-year-old felt that it is possible they can escape relegation if they can win all their remaining six games.

“I’m just trying to do the best for my club by scoring as many goals as possible,” he told FSL website.

“We’re in a very bad situation, but as a team we all working towards staying in this league.

“It’s going to be difficult with six games to go, but we can avoid relegation if we can win all our remaining games and other results go our way.

“We are playing again on Monday against IFK Goteborg and am looking forward to helping the team as much as possible.”

The victory was their third of the season and their next outing is a tough home task hosting Gothenburg-based IFK.

AFC Eskilstuna are still bottom of the standings with six games to the end.

Striker Kamara set for surgery, could miss Ethiopia away tie

Allsvenskan club BK Häcken have announced that Sierra Leone international Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara pictured will undergo a surgery on his knee on Thursday.

The promising striker, who joined the club from Örebro SK in July 2016, is suffering from a patellar tendinitis injury and will continue his lengthy spell on the sidelines.

A club statement read: “Alhassan “Crespo” Kamara’s rehabilitation has unfortunately not given the desired effect and will be operational on Thursday. Physiotherapist Patrik Ghazarian gives us the latest news about the injury.

“He will be operated in Stockholm by a doctor who is specialized in such types of injuries. After that, he will be inactive for a while before we can start with rehab. The goal is to have “Crespo” back ready ahead of the start of the 2018/2019 campaign.

As a result, Kamara could miss Leone Stars away game in Ethiopia in the race to Cameroon in 2019.

He was part of the Sierra Leone side that defeated Kenya 2-1 in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations first leg qualifying tie in Freetown in June.

Prior to his injury, Kamara has scored five goals in twelve Swedish top-flight matches for Häcken.

Sierra Leone will play again in the ongoing 2019 AFCON qualifiers against Ethiopia in March and the doubleheader against Ghana in September 2018.
