Excited Sinopspor fans carrying the Sierra Leone international on their shoulders
Former AIK striker Ibrahim Teteh Bangura has joined Turkey Regional Amateur League side Sinopspor in a bid to revitalise his career.
The Turkish fifth-tier side have signed Bangura on a one-year contract on Thursday.
His last contract was terminated by Swedish Superettan side GIAS in 2016.
“I’m not here on vacation, I came to play football,” Teteh Bangura told journalist in Turkey.
The Former AIK striker, who was welcomed with a great excitement from fans added, “I am very happy to be here. I hope you will celebrate the championship at the end of the season.
“I am coming here to play football, I want to play football. I feel like I’m at home, “he was quoted as saying.
Bangura’s best season was during the 2011 season for AIK in Allsvenskan where he scored 15 goals in 17 appearances, before joining Bursaspor in 2011.
The former Beitar Jerusalem striker has previously had spells with Köping, Bursaspor, Şanlıurfaspor, Mjällby AIF and GAIS.

Dept. Sports minister label SLFA boss unfathomable liar
Deputy Minister of Sports, Ishmael Al-Sankoh Conteh has reacted strongly to the statements of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President, Isha Johansen pictured as an unfathomable liar.
“The SLFA president press statement on Thursday against the Sports Minister, I, the director of sports and our ministry is nothing but mendacious and parochial,” Al-Sankoh said adding that it is one of the F.A president seditious antics.
Madam Johansen in Thursday’s press statement stated that football infighting seems to have found its way into being almost common place in society citing recent development in which the Minister of Sports, Ahmed Khanou took to the media to make a misleading and inciteful statement about the SLFA and the pronouncement questioning her ethic.
The SLFA boss further stated: “Coupled with his Deputy, Hon. al- Sankoh’s vitriolic and defamatory statement about myself and the FIFA General Secretary, Madam Fatma Samoura, this give a course for grave concern.”
Johansen said that her decision not to react instinctively to the barrage of insults and smear of her character and the SLFA which was provoked by the minister’s national tour around the media houses was the most the appropriate, mature and professional approach by him.
However, the deputy minister who admitted listening to the SLFA boss statement said: “Madam Johansen is an enemy of the state and has employed the service of international journalist to blackmail government and destroy football in Sierra Leone.
“She is not interested in anything about legality but rather doing things against the conventional practice. As a Ministry, we’ve always give her the support but she has always played the hard ball game.”

Sierra Leone international Gibrilla Julius Wobay has left Slovenian top league (Prva Liga) side, NK Olimpija after both parties agreed against signing a new deal with both the player and club confirmed.
The 31-year-old attacking midfielder who joined the Slovenian top league side on a year-and-half contract in 2016 decided not to go on with a new deal with the club.
In an exclusive interview with this reporter via Facebook, the Slovenia based club did confirm the player’s contract has ended with a short message: “No, Julius’ contract has expired.”
Wobay also admitted: “Am done with that club, my deal is finish.” However, the attacking midfielder refused to make any further comment over his feature but it is believed that he is weighing other options.
He won the Slovenian league title with the club during the 2015/16 season and played over 33 matches scoring more than four goals for the club.
Before moving to Slovenia, Wobay last played for Azerbaijan top league side Neftči and since he East End Lions FC in Freetown for professional football, the player has had a spell with Nea Salmina and Aris Limassol in Cyprus; Romania based Universitatea Craiova; in Azerbaijan for Khazar Lankaran and Neftči.
He also played for El Masry in Egypt before moving to the United Arab Emirates where he played for Al-Shabba.
Wobay was part of the Sierra Leone squad that defeated Kenya 2-1 in Freetown in June 2017 scoring the opening goal of the match as Sierra Leone get-off a flying start in their Group F qualifying campaign for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Sierra Leone home-based national team, has been paired against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the first round knockout clash of the 2017 WAFU tournament.
The draw which was conducted last Thursday, July 27 at the Labadi beach hotel in Accra, Ghana will see Sierra Leone and Nigeria engaged each other with the winner advancing to group A.
While six others; Ghana and Gambia, Mali and Mauritania, Guinea and Guinea Guinea Bissau will all battle in the first round to get the final four teams in Group A whose matches will be played in Takoradi.
The similar rules also apply to the zone B sides as Senegal will take on Liberia, Burkina Faso battles Niger, Ivory Coast up against Togo an Benin taking on Cape Verde to also get the final four in Group B.
After the final eight teams would have been decided, the top two winners from each group will advance to the semi-final before getting the final two the grand-finale.
The WAFU tournament will be held at the Sekondi Stadium and the Cape Coast Stadium from 9th September to 24 September 2017 and 16 countries are; Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Gambia, host nation Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo will all participate.

BK Häcken striker, Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara, has confirmed that he will have to wait until the end of August for a further diagnosis to determine when he will be fit to return to action.
Kamara, who joined the club from Örebro SK in July 2016, is suffering from a patellar tendinitis injury.
Patellar tendinitis or Hopparknä is an injured knee that causes pain. It is a common diagnosis in sports where running and jumping are included, such as handball, high jump and soccer.
“I’m scheduled to be out until the end of August and after they will take a new X-RAY and they will decide what to do from there,” a frustrated Kamara told footballsierraleone.net.
“We want to give rehab a chance to avoid surgery,” says Patrik Ghazarian, a physician stated a few weeks ago.
“We are following it carefully and hope that this plan will work so that he will be back soon on the football field again,” Ghazarian on Kamara’s injury told the club’s website.
Kamara has scored five goals in twelve Swedish top flight matches for Häcken prior to his injury
