Sierra Leone’s attacking winger Alhassan Koroma played the last 21 minutes in RB Linense 1-0 defeat to Atlético Baleares on Sunday after coming on as a 69th-minute substitute.

Koroma, 21, since injured in Sierra Leone friendly game against South Sudan, was making his first appearance for his side in Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) league. 

The winger, who sustained a muscle strain before he was replaced in the 20th-minute in Morocco last month, was pleased to be back in action for his Spanish side.

“I was pleased to be back in action but was not happy with the result on Sunday,” Koroma to FSL Sports. 

“Feeling fit and well now looking forward to our next league match against  Albacete on Saturday, hopefully. I will start. I’ve been moving around well without any pain and doing what I need to do.”

He will miss Sierra Leone friendly in Turkey due to club duty as RB Linense next league outing is against Albacete, the same the Leone Stars will take on Comoros in an International friendly.

Sierra Leone striker Alhaji Kamara has extended his contract with Danish Superliga side Randers until 2024.

Kamara, who scored a brace against the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the African Cup of Nations comeback 4-4 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, November 2020, has been an instrumental figure with Randers since 2019.

“Alhaji has proven that he is in top form one of the league’s very best strikers. He is a big mouthful for defenders with his good physique, his speed, his strong press play and his ability to position in the field. We are therefore happy that he continues to be part of the strong offensive that we have built up,” says Randers sports and commercial director Søren Pedersen.

After signing his new deal, Kamara, 27, told Randers’ website: I have been to several places over time, but Randers is definitely the best place I have been. Randers FC is like a family to me, and from day one, I have had a great time at the club. The coaches, teammates and everyone in the club are fantastic, and it has helped make it an easy decision to extend the contract.

I feel valued here and am eager to give back to the club and the fans. We are doing really well at the moment, and I am ambitious on behalf of the team and myself. I am committed to achieving great results and would like to win another trophy with the club.”

In 61 appearances, the striker has scored 18 goals since joining from g Vendsyssel FF.

Having won the league with automatic promotion, Varnamo defeated Helsingborgs 3-1 on Saturday, turning a disadvantage into a victory.

After going a goal down in the 22nd minute from a Wilhelm Loeper opener, Christian Moses levelled the scoreline for his side in the 50-minute with a fine header en route to their emphatic victory.

Robin Dzabic and Joel Craig Stevens wrapped up Varnamo‘s win with goals in the 66th and 86th minutes, respectively.

Moses, 28, goal was his fifth in 13 appearances since joining the Swedish side in July.

Their final game of the season is a home match on November 27 against Norrby.

In Turkey, former England International Steven Caulker registered his first goal for Turkish Gaziantep BB in their 2-0 home win against Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday.

Caulker, 29, who is on the Fifa waiting list for clearance to represent Sierra Leone in the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, was part of the Leone Stars final friendly against Morocco home-based side on Tuesday 12 October at the Stade El Bachir, Mohammédia.

Attacker Jonathan Morsay to miss Sierra Leone friendly in Turkey after suffering from a hamstring injury in Panaitolikos  2-1 defeat to Olympiacos Piraeus on Saturday, the player has revealed.

The 24-year-old was making his eighth appearance when he hurt his hamstring before he was substituted in the 76th minute.

Born in Sweden to a Sierra Leonean dad Morsay is yet to appear for the Leone Stars, having missed last month training camp in Morocco.

“I was supposed to go, but now I hurt my hamstring. So, I won’t be available,” Morsay to FSL Sports.

Sierra Leone will continue with their African Cup of Nations preparation this month in Turkey, facing Comoros in Instabul.

Morsay has joined Barnet defender David Sesay and Orebro left-back Kevin Wright on the injury sideline list.

Leone Stars will face Algeria, Ivory Coast and Equatorial in Group E at the Japoma 50,000 seater stadium in Douala Cameroon next year.
