- The Crocodiles of Lesotho are expected to arrive in Sierra Leone on the 9th of November to honour their African Cup of Nations qualifier with a 26-man delegation, Secretary-General of the Lesotho FA Mokhosi Mohapi has confirmed.
- Both nations will open their Cameroon 2021 campaign on the 13th of November.
- The tie is scheduled to be played in an empty Siaka Steven Stadium after latest FIFA sanction on the host country.
The two nations have never previously met at any international level, but one thing they do have in common is the colours of their national flags are the same.
Sierra Leone ranked 117th, twenty places gap advantage (20) of their Southern Africa opposition, who are 137 in the global rankings, Leone Stars on paper are outright favourites especially with a recent victory over Liberia at home.
Leone Stars have not lost a home match in their last four, defeating Gabon, Sudan 1-0 respectively in the 2017 Afcon qualifiers, down Kenya 2-1 in the opener of the 2019 Afcon qualifier before recent 1-0 victory over Liberia last month.
Lesotho, on the other hand, lost once in their last six games in all competition defeating South Africa twice.
They were held 1-1 at home against Ethiopia after a goalless draw at the Bahir Dar Stadium during the World Cup preliminary qualifiers as Ethiopia progressed on the away goals rule.
On Sunday, Lesotho was again eliminated by Zimbabwe in the third round of the CHAN qualifiers 3-1 on aggregates as both sides played goalless at the Sesoto stadium in the reverse fixture.
Sierra Leone will be hoping to make use of home advantage and open their campaign with a victory at home replicating their 2019 2-1 opener against Kenya on June 2017.
Their opponent Lesotho has never qualified for the final stages of the Afcon.
Sierra Leone, on the other hand, participated in the continental big stage 23 years ago during the 1996 Afcon in South Africa.

- Sullay Kaikai is expected to be fit for Blackpool League One clash against high-flying Wycombe Wanderers tonight.
- The Sierra Leone native hasn’t played in Seasiders’ last three games in league and cup, a run that resulted in two defeats and one draw.
- Blackpool boss Simon Grayson is hoping to have both Sullay Kaikai (hamstring) and Joe Nuttall (sciatica) back available for selection.
Speaking ahead of the match, Grayson said: “We’ve got some good work into the players and the time off has also allowed us to get one or two more up to speed and back into the fold.”
“It came at a good time for us because the situation is improving.”
“Nathan Delfouneso was involved against Carlisle. Joe Nuttall and Sullay Kaikai have been out on the grass with us for the last few days.”
“We will assess them if they will be alright for Tuesday night. You want good players available and our 18 and behind the 18 will be a lot stronger than it has been for the last few weeks.
“The only one that will miss out is Ryan Hardie, who picked up a knock and a dead leg at Carlisle on Tuesday which has kept him out of training since then.”

- English-born Sierra Leone defender Alie Sesay has had his say on the recent racist abuse heard in Sofia during England’s 2020 Euro qualifier in Bulgaria.
Sesay playing for Arda Kardzhali in Bulgaria was watching the match at home as England players were exposed to hateful racist chanting in Sofia on Monday night during the 6-0 Euro 2020 qualifying victory.
The 25-year-old centre back, who made his Sierra Leone debut against Cameroon in Yaounde 2014, said he was “surprised” to hear the racial abuse while watching the game, but had heard nothing of reports it was a premeditated attack.
“I was surprised personally I haven’t experienced racism yet, so it was a shock to me,” Sesay told Sky Sports News.
“Bulgarian league has a lot of foreign players and speaking to a few players in my team they are disappointed that now Bulgaria has got a bit of a name. The whole of Bulgaria is being judged on it.”
He signed for the Bulgarian top-flight club in August on a one-year deal with an option to renew.
The former Leicester City academy product, since his move has featured in five matches due to delay in his international transfer.
