Striker Kei Kamara scored his first of the 2020 MLS season in the 67th minute to give Colorado Rapids a lifeline.
His goal was the equaliser en route to the Rapids 2-1 victory over DC United on Saturday in Week 1 at the Audi Field.
The Rapids’ 92nd-minute goal from winger Jonathan Lewis gave the visitors a dream start to the 2020 Major League Soccer season.
Lewis was an 85th-minute substitute before he sealed the three points when a pinball-like sequence fell to the US men’s national team winger.
He capitalized on his chance, volleying home to make it 2-1 as goalkeeper Bill Hamid left the goalmouth.
Russell Canouse scored from the back post to give the host the opener in the 60th but was not enough as Colorado come from behind to register their first league win of the new season.
The host lead lasted for only seven minutes when Kei Kamara launched a trademark header past Hamid, latching onto a driven cross from Jack Price to make it 1-1.

MID-ATLANTIC CONFERENCE league side Maryland bobcats have confirmed the signing of Sierra Leone’s keeper Christian Caulker.
On September 26, 2019, it was announced that the club would join the National Premier Soccer League as an expansion team.
“We’re excited to announce three new players for 2020 that will have an immediate impact on the squads. Last, but certainly not least is Christian Caulker.
“Christian is a quality goalkeeper, who has played with Kallon FC in Sierra Leone as well as earning 18 caps for the Sierra Leone national team. He’ll bolster our already strong goalkeeper core, and we’re happy to bring him on board,” the club said in a statement.
The former Västerås SK keeper last played for Baltimore United in the US.
On the International level, Caulker was the number one goalkeeper for the Leone Stars since making his international debut against Guinea Bissau on 15 October 2007.
However, he was suspended amongst fifteen players and officials in 2014, a suspension that affected his playing career. It’s still undecided when Caulker will return to the Sierra Leone nationals set up.
Caulker was highly rated as the best Sierra Leonean goalkeeper when he was the first choice for Leone Stars.
On National junior level, he was the first-choice goalkeeper for Sierra Leone U-17 team and at the 2005 Meridian Cup in Turkey.
He started in all six games for Sierra Leone at the first round group stage of the 2010 World Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria and South Africa.

Sierra Leone striker Mohamed Buya Turay, who departed Swedish champions Djurgården after loan spell expires, has appealed to the club to resign him.
Turay scored 15 goals in 29 matches Buya won the title and the 2019 golden boot during his loan spell at the club.
It was Turay’s goal that completed a superb comeback from two goals down as Djurgarden won the Allsvenskan league title after a 2-2 draw away to Norrkoping on a dramatic final day of the 2019 Swedish season.
“I just got information that there is money at the bank, please come and take me,” Buya posted on his official Instagram page.
He added, “Djurgården, there is money at the bank, come and get me now let’s fix this. And, we qualify for the Champions League.”
This winter Djurgården replaced Buya Turay in the squad, with Kalle Holmberg from IFK Norrköping.
Since leaving the Swedish Champions Turay has not played a single game for his parent club in Saint-Truidense Belgium where he made six appearances with a goal to his name before his Djurgården loan spell in January 2019.
