- LA Galaxy II striker Augustine Williams has been named to the 2020 USL Championship All-League First Team after his impressive form this campaign.
- Williams, who recorded seven goals in his last eight games during the final stretch of the season, was also named USL Championship’s’ Player of the Month for September/October.
His goals lead the Galaxy II to a second consecutive trip to the USL Championship Playoffs.
The 23-year-old finished the campaign with 13 goals two assists to finish second in the race for the Championship’s Golden Boot.
His total also tied for second in the Galaxy II’s history for goals in a single season, trailing only Jack McBean’s standout 2016 season that saw the former Los Dos forward earn All-League First Team honours.
The Sierra Leone-born was invited for friendly matches against Mauritania and Niger but due to club commitment was unable to make the trip.
He was voted by club’s management and a league-wide media panel that included representation from every USL market.

- Tampa Bay Rowdies defender Mustapha Dumbuya could return to face his former club Phoenix Rising FC in USL final on Sunday.
- The 2020 Eastern Conference Champions will take on Phoenix Rising FC in USL final on 1st November at the Al Lang Stadium.
The contest is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET and will be aired live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and Sirius XM FC.
Right-back, Dumbuya, 33, who won Western Conference Championship with Phoenix Rising FC last season, could be in contention after recovering from a minor injury.
He was part of Rising’s record-setting season when the amassed 78 points a league record.
“I was injured, but I am fully fit again. The team has been playing well,” Dumbuya confirmed he is in line to play.
Rising FC earned the USL Championship Regular Season Title on September 29, 2019, after playing New Mexico United to a 2–2 draw.
Having won a Western Conference Championship just two years ago, Rising will face a tough task against Rowdies, who have been in solid form all season.
Meanwhile, Tampa Bay Rowdies announced on Friday that Head Coach Neill Collins and two others unnamed have tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss Sunday’s USL Championship Final.

Sierra Leone’s U-17 team, Sierra Stars proved too strong as they thrashed Discoveries Academy U17 side 5-1 on Thursday in Liberia.
Before their impressive victory, Sierra Stars defeat their Liberian counterpart 3-2 in the first friendly encounter on Tuesday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
Under the supervision of head coach Raymond Lewis, the youngsters demonstrated passion and resilient with a brace from skipper Alimamy Kamara 4th and 15th minute, goals from Lansana Kallon, David Kamara and Alpha Turay en-route to a big friendly win.
There was a consolation goal for the Discoveries FC.
Both matches are groundwork in readiness for the WAFU tournament, expected to be hosted in Sierra Leone in December 2020.

Nigeria German technician, Gernot Rohr, has named Super Eagles top poacher Victor Osimhen for Sierra Leone cracker.
Other notable inclusions are skipper Ahmed Musa, defender William Ekong, midfield enforcer Oghenekaro Etebo, Joseph Ayodele-Aribo and South Africa –based goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi also made Rohr selection.
Next month’s 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers will be matchday three and four of the race to Cameroon.
The contest will be played at the newly refurbished Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City 13th November with the reverse fixture in Freetown 17th November at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.
The NFF says there are seven players on standby, including defender Abdullahi Shehu, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, midfielders Ramon Azeez and Samson Tijani, and forward Paul Onuachu.
Players are expected to report at the Protea Hotel Emotan in Benin City on Monday 9th November.
The Super Eagles are leading Group L after their opening two victories against Benin and Lesotho. The Squirrels of the Benin Republic standing second followed by Lesotho.

- Minnesota United striker Kei Kamara has not ruled out a Sierra Leone return ahead of Nigeria doubleheader, Football Sierra Leone understands.
- Kamara, 36, scored a brilliant goal against Liberia during the second leg time of the 2022 World Cup qualifier in Freetown last September.

- FC Zurich defender, Bangura, 33, has departed Niger after being given the all-clear following ten days in self-isolation.
- Sierra Leone skipper Umaru Bangura, who was diagnosed alongside two others in Niger during Leone Stars friendly test, has recovered from the disease.
His initial diagnosis was confirmed on Wednesday, October 14th. However, on Thursday 22nd, Football Sierra Leone understands that two other tests have been negative.
The Sierra Leone Football Association confirmed the initial positive test news of Bangura, fitness Coach Philli Kor and Head of Communications for the National Sports Authority, Eric Batilo Fomba.
Since then, it is not clear what the situation of the other two as there has been no update from the Sports Ministery or the SLFA.
