Sierra Leone Premier League side Kallon FC has been named amongst Africa’s top transfer of outgoing players in the last decade. No other club from Sierra Leone is on the list.
According to a published document by the world football governing body FIFA following accumulated transfer dealings of clubs in every confederation, the FC Kallon was named 24th of 30 clubs in Africa.
Since Fifa Introduced Transfer Matching System, TMS, in October 2010, 25 players have been exported by the Freetown based club.
The FIFA reports focused on international transfers for men’s during the 2011-2020 period. One of the most comprehensive reviews of transfers across the globe ever produced.
Leading the list on the continent is Ghanaian club Inter Allies, who recently relegated to the division one league in the just ended Ghana Premier League season, exported 64 players.
Club owner, former Inter Milan and Monaco striker Mohamed Kallon expressed satisfaction with the administrative structure of his club.
“Now, it is very clear that FC Kallon has something to show, but we are humble,” he told FSL News.
Kallon claimed his club did not make money on many of these players but was pleased that some of them are happy with their respective families.
“This is what I refer to as development – we did not make money on most of those players, but they are very comfortable with their families in the diaspora today.”

Sierra Leone striker Augustine Williams has expressed his delight at scoring a brace on his first start for his new club.
Williams, 24, opened his San Diego Loyal account in their 3-1 triumph over the Sacramento Republic at Heart Health Park on Saturday.
As a result, they ended Republic seven-game undefeated streak. Landon Donovan’s side started brightly as they took the lead in the third minute with Oliver Larraz’s first goal for the club.
The visitors doubled its lead in the 23rd minute as Williams opened his account in his first start since arriving on loan from the LA Galaxy. The Sierra Leone international collected a clever flicked pass by Corey Hertzog before placed his shot in the left corner of the net.
Six minutes later Williams added a second as he got onto the end of a corner kick by Charlie Adams from the right and headed into the right corner.
Williams almost got a hat trick for the visitors eight minutes into the second half as Elijah Martin created space in the left side of the penalty area for a low cross that found the forward, whose first shot was blocked by Jordan McCrary before a second that hit the top of Gomez’s head and came back off the crossbar before the hosts cleared to safety.
“Feels great. It’s a great way for me to start and be in a good rhythm. I am happy for the win and goals,” a delighted Williams told FSL News.
“My job is to score goals, and I love to do it whenever I got the opportunity to do it.”
Just a few days ago, he joined the club from LA Galaxy on loan for the rest of the season.
In Finland – Major League Soccer legend Kei Kamara has opened his Finnish Veikkausliiga account after his brace for HIFK Fotboll in a 3-0 away win over Honka at Tapiola Sports Park on Saturday.
The fifth MLS all-time top scorer was making his second appearance for the club.
Kamara, 36, joined the club for the remainder of the 2021 season with an option for the 2022 season.
“It’s always great to get your first goal, especially when your team gets to win,” Kei Kamara told FSL News.
“I am still trying to adapt to the league as this is just my second game, but training and the team chemistry have been very good.”
In Austria, midfielder George Davies scored his first league goal for his Austrian second-tier side SKN St. Pölten in a 2-0 victory over Austria Wien II on Saturday.
George Davies, who signed a contract extension with Pölten in April until the end, was making his sixth league appearance.
In Turkey, Randers was eliminated from the Europa League after a 2-1 defeat to Galatasaray at the Türk Telekom Arena on Thursday.
Sierra Leone International Alhaji Kamara was subbed on in the 71st minute, but his side couldn’t make the competition group stages. However, they will continue in the new UEFA Conference League group stage.
