Orlando 3 Rev 1: Kei Kamara on target again for the Revs in MLS

Kei Kamara was on target in New England Revolution’s 3-1 defeat away to Orlando City on Sunday at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.

The Sierra Leone national opened the scoring for the visitors to registered his fourth goal for the Revs and his ninth goal of the season in the 19th minute.

His goal was superb after running with the entire Orlando back four before sending home a curling and calm finish to put his side ahead.

However, the host Orlando responded with three unanswered in the second half.

The host’s midfielder Kevin Molino scored twice after the break to send the New England Revolution to a 3-1 loss.

Molino levels it up for Orlando in the 64th minute to cancel out Kei’s opener.

New England remains above the red line in the sixth slot on the Eastern Conference table despite the loss.

The Revs will face Toronto this coming Sunday at the Ontario stadium.

In-form Sierra Leone midfielder Abdul ‘Buduski’ Sesay has now hit double-figures for his Finnish club OPS after scoring twice in his side 3-1 win over YPA FC on Sunday.

The 24-year-old was also named Man of the Match in today’s KaKKonen clash away from home.

Sunday’s result stretched their undefeated run to five games, leaving them top of the division standings.

Buduski scored his first professional hat-trick against the same club on May 14, 2016.

His brace has taken the Leone Stars midfielder tally to 10 in 12 appearances in this campaign for his club.

Sesay, who a few days ago told Football Sierra Leone UK that he wants to extend his goal scoring exploits is delighted with his double.

He said: “Ten goals in twelve matches, I’m happy most especially for the team and I’m happy with my recent form.

“My target is to keep scoring goals and hopefully, we got promoted – I’m working hard who knows where that will take me next season.”

The Finish-based midfielder produced yet another magical performance for his Oulun Palloseura (OPS) side, his first was in the 59th minutes before sealing his side victory in the 81′ minutes.

He is expected to be part of the Sierra Leone side to face Ivory Coast in their quest t reach the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations final in Gabon.

Buduski scored his goal for Sierra Leone against Chad in the 2018 World Cup preliminary match played in Nigeria at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium (Port Harcourt) in October 2015.

He was an unused substitute in the 1-0 victory over Sudan June 4, 2016, at the National Stadium in Freetown.

David Simbo wants move from Krumkachy Minsk

Krumkachy Minsk centre back David Simbo pictured in action for Sierra Leone has told his club that he wants to move this summer.

The 26-year-old Sierra Leone international has not been consistent for the Belarusian top-flight outfit.

Since joining the club in March the Leone Stars defender has fallen down the pecking order and has only made five (5) appearances in seventeen (17) matches including two cup ties.

The former Narjan SC and Al Hilal defender who is very much frustrated about the lack of playing time confirmed his intention to Football Sierra Leone.

When asked about how he saw his club future, he said: “I’m desperate to move on because I just want to play games.”

“I have already told the club about my intention and will see you in the next coming days, maybe in Belarus or out of Belarus.

“For me, it doesn’t matter where I go as long as am happy and playing regular football that is ok, Simbo told footballsierraleone.net.

Simbo, who started his career with local club Mighty Blackpool, has had spells in Sweden with Motala, Trelleborg, Boden, and Sandviken before moving to Sudan, where he won the league in 2014.

He is expected to be part of the Sierra Leone squad to face Ivory Coast in September in pursuit of the Gabon 2017 qualification.

OPS midfielder Abdul Sesay aiming for ‘double figures’

Oulun Palloseura (OPS) attacking midfielder Abdul Sesay has targeted reaching double figures for the season.

The 24-year-old, who has netted eight times in Twelve (12) appearances in this campaign, trails Mexican international Alberto RamĂ­rez Torres by just two goals.

Sesay ended the last campaign with just 3 goals and he is looking to get on the score sheet more regular this term.

Sesay told Football Sierra Leone UK that he wants to extend his goal scoring exploits by targeting double figures by the end of the season.

He said: “I got eight in the league so far and it would be nice to get to double figures.

“Every footballer must have a target, you’ve got to set your standards as high as possible and it’s important for me to try to improve on last season’s disappointing tally.”

“We have been doing well – We’re league leaders – We know from now on we’ve all got to chip in and get goals. If we do that, we’ll find ourselves winning a lot more games and hopefully the league, ” he told www.footballsierraleone.net

The former Atlantis FC player registered his first professional hat-trick for OPS in a 5-1 win over Jalkapalloseeura FC YPA in the Finish Kakkonen on May 14 this year.

OPS will travel to Jalkapalloseeura FC YPA for their second meeting this season on Sunday 31, July 2016.

Meanwhile, The former Atlantis FC player has accounted for two international goals for Sierra Leone in six appearances.

His first was against Chad in the 2018 World Cup preliminary match played in Nigeria at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium (Port Harcourt) in October 2015.

Sierra Leone international John Kamara is getting back to his best and the secret behind the midfielder’s form is simple: he’s fit.

Kamara, who turned 28 last May, has been superb for his Virsliga side FC Riga this season.

The former PAS Lamia 1964 midfielder’s improvement has been down to hard work and regular football action this season, amassing 1,192 minutes in fourteen appearances so far this campaign.

Kamara, who was rated the most effective player, told footballsierraleone.net, “This is probably the best I’ve felt in a few years.

“I’m probably the fittest I’ve felt and that’s showing in my game.

“The season couldn’t have started any better – It was tough previous seasons but now I feel like I’m getting back to my best.

“Training, every day, has been the marker. The manager puts on good sessions, everyone’s lively and it’s like a game – so when it comes round to the game, you’re ready.”

The tough and lanky midfielder is still confident he can even get better.

“I’m still young and can get better, am working on my intensity – playing a bit higher up with my running and breaking play up, stuff like that, affecting the team.”

Kamara made his international debut for Sierra Leone in 2013 and has appeared in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

He was introduced in the dying minutes for Leone Stars in the victory over Sudan in Freetown on June 4, 2016, in the Africa Cup of Nation’s qualifier.
