Khalifa Jabbie pictured in action was delighted to net his first league goal of the new season.
The Sierra Leone midfielder grabbed a late goal to extend FC Sheriff’s tally to six on Saturday.
Jabbie, 23, has expressed his delight at scoring season’s first goal in their 7-0 hammering over CF Ungheni at the Malaya Sports complex Tiraspol.
Speaking to www.footballsierraleone.net, Jabbie said: “It is my first goal of the new campaign, it is a good feeling, and I’m very happy.
Hopefully, this goal will give me more confidence and the victory will give us momentum going forward, and we can build on it in our upcoming matches.”
The Moldovan Champions host Saxan Ceadir-Lunga this weekend.
They lost their opening league match 2-1 to FC Zaria.
However, they defeated FC Zaria 3-1 to lift this season’s Moldovan Super Cup on Wednesday.
The FC Sheriff Midfielder, who watched on from the bench in both legs of this season’s Champions League defeat to the Israeli side, Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the competition’s second qualifying round was disappointed not to be called upon by boss Bruno Irles.
Jabbie explained: “I was obviously disappointed but I have to put that behind me and move on. The manager has been great with me. He helps me a lot, and has given me a lot of advice.”

Former Orebro SK striker Alhassan Crespo Kamara has already started making his mark with his new club, BK Hacken.
Kamara, 23, signed for the Gothenburg-based club last month and scored his first goal for the club in today’s 4-2 Allsvenskan game against Elfsborg at the Borås Arena (Borås) Stadium.
The 5 ft. 11 inches poacher, who signed on a three-year-deal, was introduced in the 71′ minutes replacing J. Owoeri.
He scored Hacken’s fourth goal away to Elfsborg in the 75th minute after good combination work to complete the victory.
The Sierra Leone striker was making only his third appearance since joining Hacken from Orebro SK.
Before his move, Kamara has only scored once for Orebro in nine appearances in this campaign.
He spent the 2015 season on the sideline after picking up Lower body injury.
The victory moved Hacken to fifth on the 2016/2017 Swedish top flight table.

Sierra Leone international striker Sheka Fofanah has signed a two-year deal with Danish 1st Division outfit Vejle Boldklub, the club have confirmed.
The Leone Stars match winner against Sudan in June’s AFCON qualifier in Freetown has been on trial with Swedish IFK Norrköping during the summer. The trial period was spoiled by a minor injury.
The Vejle based club has won the Danish championship five times and the Danish cup title six times.
Manager Steen Thychosen told club’s website: “We have followed Sheka Fofanah for a period of training and on Saturday, we saw him lead our U19 League team friendly game. He is only 18 and has a bright prospect ahead of him.”
Fofanah has so far made four appearances for Leone Stars and has been impressive scoring two goals, one each against Gabon in Franceville and Sudan in Freetown in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Quevilly Rouen goalkeeper Solomon Zombo Morris (pictured in action) has been ruled out for a week with a knee injury he suffered in training on Wednesday.
Morris confirmed his injury after medical assessment, is now set to miss the start of the French Championnat National League season.
The news is a bitter blow for the Le Petit-Quevilly based club founded in 1902.
He also reiterated that he will miss tomorrow’s opening league encounter after he collides with a teammate in their final preseason training.
Morris said: “Unfortunately, I injured both knees after going for a loose ball against my teammate in Wednesday’s training, nothing too serious but after assessment team’s doctor Bernard Cauchois wanted me to have a week to rest,” Morris told footballsierraleone.net
They will open their 2016 – 2017 French Championnat National League campaign at home against FC Chambly on Friday 5, August 2016
The Sierra Leone international, who won his 16 caps in the 1-0 victory at home against Sudan, is more concern to be fit to face Ivory Coast in September.
He added: “I’m more concern about the Ivory Coast game, it’s one those games any player doesn’t want to miss. We can make history by beating Ivory Coast and I hope to be fine.”
Morris first international call-up was in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Tunisia.

Former Watford and Honefoss defender Umaru ‘Zaingallay’ Bangura is set to complete his move to second-tier Swiss outfit FC Zurich from Belarusian side Dinamo Minsk tomorrow.
Football Sierra Leone UK understands that the 28-year-old will sign a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The Sierra Leone skipper whose Minsk’s contract runs out in December underwent medical on Wednesday before agreeing on personal terms.
Bangura joined Dinamo in December 2013 from FK Haugesund.
He has just started full training after been ruled out for up to a month after suffering a knee injury.
Meanwhile, FC Zurich was founded in 1896 and has won the Swiss Super League 12 times and the Swiss Cup 9 times.
They won the 2009 Swiss Super League and last won the Swiss Cup in 2016.
They play their home games at the Letzigrund in Zürich at the 25,000 seated stadiums.
Bangura had joined Watford in 2005 but failed to get a work permit and did not feature for the club.
He came close to signed for Crystal Palace in 2013 under boss Ian Holloway.

Crystal Palace youngster Sullay Kaikai scored both goals in their 2-1 victory over near-neighbours Bromley at Hayes Lane in today’s pre-season preparations.
Kaikai, who is desperate for first team action in Alan Pardew’s Premier side in the coming season, was impressive.
The PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for October 2015 opened the scoring with a neat finish on 22 minutes, following good work from Welsh international Jonny Williams.
The 20-year-old hailing from Sierra Leonean parents scored his second with a superb free-kick which flew in off the post.
He was very instrumental for Shrewsbury Town on loan last campaign. He finished the season as Shrewsbury’s top scorer, registering 12 goals before returning to his parent club on 3 May.
He made his Premier League debut in Palace last game of the season on 15 May, replacing Jordon Mutch at half-time in a 4–1 loss at Southampton.
The South Norwood, London-based club face Valencia on home soil next weekend in their final run-out of the summer, before playing host to West Bromwich Albion in their opening Premier League fixture.
