Breiðablik’s newly signed attacking midfielder Kwame Quee is gearing up to prove himself in the Icelandic top flight and Europa League next season.

The Sierra Leone international has confirmed signing a two-year deal with the Blikar club.

Quee and his new side will play in next year’s UEFA Europa League qualifiers after Breiðablik ended their 2018 campaign as the second best in Pepsi Deildin league in Iceland.

“I am very excited and can’t wait to start,” Quee told Football Sierra Leone.

Quee added, “Very much ready and looking forward to Breiðablik challenge.

“It’s a massive opportunity for me. I’m delighted as this is a good step up for me.”

The Sierra Leone international, 22, has spent the last two season trading with Víkingur Ólafsvík in Iceland where he has registered 17 goals since joining on loan in 2016.

The former FC Johansen midfielder over the years has developed into a great prospect having played over 12 international caps for Sierra Leone.

He was recently part of the Leone Stars African Nations Cup 2019 qualification campaign and played in 1-0 defeat to Ethiopia in September 2018.

The 2016 national FA winner has been one of the outstanding and consistent players since winning his first International cap with Sierra Leone.

Quee was also part of the FC Johansen side eliminated by Moroccan side FUS Rabat in this season’s CAF Champions League 4-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round in 2017.

He has had spells with Doutcher United, where he started his career, Sierra Rangers, Papa jack FC before joining FC Johansen in 2009.

Sierra Leone’s Panetolikos striker Alhassan Kamara is facing up to five months out injured, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

The forward, who joined the Greek side in September on a two-year deal, may not play until May 2019.

The club has confirmed that the Sierra Leone international operation was successful.

Kamara was forced off the pitch in their 1-2 away victory to PAE Aris on Saturday.

Alhassan Kamara forced off pitch with serious knee injury

Sierra Leone striker Alhassan Crespo Kamara was forced off the pitch in their 1-2 away victory to PAE Aris with an apparent patella knee dislocation on Saturday.

Panetolikos announced after the win that in the 9th minute ‘Kamara was injured and left with a patella dislocation. He will be subjected to the necessary tests to assess the damage.

The striker, who has scored three goals for the Greek Super League side in eleven appearances, had to be substituted immediately and taken to the hospital.

In his attempt in the area, Kamara slipped and fell awkwardly that resulting in serious injury to the knee.

Goals from Alexandros Malis and Argentinian Adrián Lucero were enough to help Panetolikos registered their first win in history at “Kleanthis Vikelidis”

The home side played with ten players for almost an hour following goalie Julian Cuesta sending off.

Sierra Leonean striker Christian Moses wins Viborg’s Goal of the Year

Sierra Leone International striker Christian Moses has won Viborg FF goal of the year, the club announced on Tuesday.

Moses goal chosen by fans as the best was his stunning long-range strike from outside the area in their 2-3 away win in August against Silkeborg.

“The voices have been spoken, with a total of 78% of the total votes, Christian Moses’ goal in Silkeborg won the vote, and the striker from Sierra Leone thus runs the title of the man behind the fall goal,” The club noted on their website.

A few months ago, he signed a new two-and-a-half year permanent contract extension to stay at the club until summer 2021.

The 25-year-old, who joined Viborg Jan 10, 2018, on loan in the previous deal, has scored three times in the first half of the NordicBet Liga matches.

The league leaders will resume campaign March 2019 away to Næstved BK.

NEW Colorado Rapids goal-poacher, Sierra Leone’s Kei Kamara, feels joining the Denver suburb Commerce City side is an ‘exciting prospect’.

The former Middlesbrough attacker, on Tuesday, was picked by Cincinnati and traded to the Rapids for an international roster spot, on a two-year deal.

“It’s a great move and I am very happy about it,” Kamara said. “It’s going to be a fun pressure because they want me to score goals and be a leader too, I look forward to it,” Kamara told Football Sierra Leone UK.

Kamara is the sixth-all time goal poacher in MLS’s history; the 34-year-old has accounted 112 goals and 44 assists in 314 MLS games.

Rapids Executive Vice President and General Manager, Pádraig told clubs website, “Kei Kamara is a natural goal scorer who has consistently ranked among the top finishers in MLS.”

“His goalscoring capabilities will bring a much-needed cutting edge to our attack. We are delighted to bring Kei to the club and look forward to seeing him on the field in the burgundy and blue in 2019,” Smith explained.

The Sierra Leone native is still focusing on winning the MLS Cup. When asked if he is still eager to win it after his move to the Rapids, he said, “Yes of course or I will retire now.

“I have a drive and playing to win a trophy. That’s always my drive.”

The MLS veteran, who started his trip with Columbus Crew in 2006 after drafted ninth overall by Crew SC in 2006, went on to play 19 games nine from the start, scoring three goals.

Since 2006, he has won the fans everywhere he has played including his best spell in 2015 playing in 32 matches for the Columbus Crew SC, 31 from the start, scoring a career-high 22 goals and eight assists.

He was the joint top scorer with 22 goals but finished second to Sebastian Giovinco on fewer assists.

The proven MLS target man scored 14 goals last season for Vancouver Whitecaps and made five assist in twenty-eight appearances.

Kamara has also had spells with Sporting Kansas City, Houston Dynamo and San Jose Earthquakes and away from the MLS Norwich City and Championship side Middlesbrough between 2012 and 2014.

In 2015, Kamara was named in an MLS All-Star when he scored a career-high 22 goals with the Columbus Crew.
