Kickers Offenbach striker Kargbo frustrated over injury setback

Kickers Offenbach striker Abubakarr Kargbo has suffered injury setback during preseason training in Opalenica, Poland.

The club’s new acquisition will be out with a knee ligament.

Kargbo, 27, says he was frustrated with the damage after been ruled for at least the first half of the new season.

“I am disappointed, frustrated, but its football. I’ll have to wait for the medical experts to confirm the length of time I’ll be out.”

“I do not want to overstressed how much I am disappointed, but it football anything can happen anytime,” the former German U19 striker reiterated to FSL News.

The Regionalliga side played to a 1-1 draw Polish runner-up Lech Posen in the training camp with the absence of their Sierra Leone-born Kargbo on Friday.

He scored eleven goals for the Berliner AK (Regionalliga Nordost) in 16 games last season.

Kargbo will not be part of the Kickers Offenbach side that will kick start the 2020 campaign against Bahlinger Sportclub on the 5 of September at home.

Sierra Leone’s native Sankoh joins German side VfB Stuttgart

German top-tier side VfB Stuttgart have completed the signing of 16-year-old striker Mohamed Sankoh from Stoke City on a five-year deal.

The Dutch/Sierra Leonean youngster, who has already played for the Netherlands, has been recently dubbed as the new Romelu Lukaku.

He was arguably the hottest property in the Championship club’s academy.

Sankoh was the youngest member of the Oranje youth’s 2019 UEFA European U17-winning team, featuring against France in the groups and Belgium in the quarter-finals.

Sankoh whose physical attributes and prolific strike-rate have prompted comparisons to former Chelsea forward Lukaku is said to also eligible to represent Sierra Leone.

Kickers Offenbach challenge excites striker Abubakarr Kargbo

Abubakarr Kargbo has revealed his excitement ahead of the new season after K. Offenbach moved their pre-season training camp in Opalenica (Poland) on Friday.

The former German U19 striker, who signed for the Regionalliga Südwest club in June, is excited and looking forward to working under sweltering heat in preparation for the upcoming league season.

 “It’s an exciting time preparing for the new campaign, and I’m excited. I am looking forward to the new season, but first its’ preparation time,” Kargbo told FSL news from their Poland training camp.

“I’m relishing the new challenge after three seasons at former club Berliner Berlin.”

Offenbacker first test match is on Sunday, August 9th against Polish fourth division team Stilon Gorzów Wielkopolski. Kick-off is at 5 p.m.

The match is expected to be on Kickers TV live.

On Wednesday, August 12th, they go again against Polish runner-up Lech Posen.

In Germany, they will take on second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue on Friday, August 14th (5 p.m. Kickers TV live).

Kargbo, 27, is a Sierra Leonean-born but was raised in Germany, where he played for the youth U15, U17, and U19 sides.

  • Sierra Leonean keeper Alhaji Sesay played the full throttle in Dartford National League South play-off final as they suffered a 3-0 defeat on penalties against Weymouth at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday.
  • Dartford lost to Weymouth in the National League South play-off final after missing three penalties in a shoot-out for promotion.

As a result, ending all hopes of gaining promotion to the Vanarama National League.

Dartford defeats Slough Town in the quarter-final and a few days later eliminated Havant Waterlooville in the semi-final last weekend en route this year final.

  • Augustus Kargbo has spoken of his first major title and promotion delight after accounted for the winning Reggio Audace’s goal on Wednesday evening that elevated his side to the Italian Serie B

Speaking of his pride after Wednesday success, the Sierra Leone-born said, “It was my goal from day one. I am happy, I want to thank the coaching staff, and without them, I could not have made it.”

“I’m really happy for my first career triumphed that elevated the team to Serie B after 21 years. I’ve always wanted to win and to play at the highest level. This is a great achievement, but it is just the start,” Kargbo told Football Sierra Leone.

When asked if he will be staying at Reggio Audace, he added, “I don’t know, it doesn’t just depend on me. I still have two years of contract with Crotone. We will see after speaking to the club what happens next.”

“To be honest, I was privileged to be part of this historic moment with a great club. It was very important for us to keep momentum. I am going to keep dreaming of playing at the bigger stage.”

“The manager believed in me since day one. And I have tried my best for the club and for my career.”

“Just a normal boy from Freetown whose dream has just come true,” a delighted Kargbo posted on his official Instagram page.

Belgian Sint Truiden striker, Mohamed Buya Turay is on his way to Chinese Premier League, a source closed to his Belgian club has confirmed.

The Sierra Leone striker, who departed Swedish reigning champions Djurgården after loan spell expired last season, next destination is in China.

Turay scored 15 goals in 29 matches Buya won the title and the 2019 golden boot during his loan spell at the club.

Buya, who recently returned to parent club has a year left on his STVV contract, and the club we understand is ready to let him go for an undisclosed fee nearer to what they paid in 2018.
