New England Revolution striker Kei Kamara was the star man once again in the battle of Kamaras.
Kei and Ola Kamara both was on target, but at the end, it was Kei’s New England Revolution who got the win, 3-1, over Columbus Crew SC Saturday night in Foxborough.
The Sierra Leonean who was playing for the first time against old club scored the final goal of the night which served up as a reminder to his former club – picking up maximum points that ended a three-game losing streak in the league.
“Playing against Columbus Crew, It’s not a game I ever thought was going to happen,” Kei Kamara acknowledged two months after he was sold by Columbus, where he accounted for 22 goals last season.
The Revs goal poacher 3rd MLS goal of the season was enough to claim a 3-1 win.
The hosts took the lead with 3 minutes on the board from Lee Nguyen and doubled their lead in the 34th when Kei Kamara’s clever ball was knocked in by Columbus midfielder Wil Trapp for an own goal.
Columbus new boy Ola Kamara reduce the deficit in the 42 minutes with a left-footed shot before old boy Kei ensured the Revs didn’t let a late first half goal affect them.
The Revolution prolific striker scored his first two league goals in six appearances in the opening 35 minutes against Montreal Impact a few days ago.

Leicester City have confirmed their fifth signing of the summer in the shape of CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa, subject to international clearance.
The Nigerian signed a four-year contract for a club-record fee of around £16m.
The 23-year-old has expressed his delight at joining the side.
“I feel very happy joining Leicester City, for me it’s one of the best clubs and I feel very happy.
“I joined because it’s one of the best clubs in the Premier League and they are like a family,” he told LCFC.com.
He scored 13 goals in 30 league games for the Russian club last term.
Musa made his international debut against Madagascar in September 2010 and has scored 11 times in 58 appearances for the Super Eagles.
He scored twice in Nigeria’s 3-2 loss to Argentina at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, becoming the first Nigerian to score twice in a World Cup finals match.
Musa is the first Nigerian to score more than once in a FIFA World Cup match after scoring twice against Argentina in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Sierra Leone international Mohamed ‘Medo’ Kamara played a pivotal role dominating midfield ensuring his Helsinki side progress to the Europa League second qualifying round.
HJK Helsinki played to a 1-1 draw on Thursday in the first round second leg of the UEFA Europa League qualifying round against Lithuanian side FK Atlantas and 3-1 on aggregate to reach the second round of qualifiers.
Hosts Helsinki took the lead through their Nigerian defender Taye Taiwo from the penalty spot in the 30th minutes after Nikolai Alho (HJK) was fouled in the penalty area by Adamonis (Atlantas).
The Lithuanians rallied late on in the 76th minutes Marius Papšys equalised to helped his side avoid defeat away from home.
The Finnish league leaders will now face Bulgarian club Stara Zagora in the second qualifying round of the Europa League.
Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos, 20, accounted for both goals in the first leg.
The two legs will be held on 14 and 21 July and eighteen (18) clubs will enter the second qualifying round, joined by 48 winners from the first qualifying round.
The first leg fixture – Kamara’s Helsinki will be away at the Beroe Stadium in Bulgaria, before hosting their counterpart on Thursday, 21 July 19:00 at their Sonera Stadium.
The former Bolton midfielder has made 14 appearances this season for the Veikkausliiga leaders scoring one goal.

Western Australia National Premier League side, Stirling Lions left-back, David Sesay (Pictured) has indicated his willingness to be part of the Sierra Leone men’s soccer team and defend the uniform of Sierra Leone internationally.
In a bid to realise his dream, the highly-rated agile and versatile defender is hoping to be contacted by the national team’s handlers in the near future.
Sesay, 25, who has represented Australia as a junior at the Singapore international Challenge Cup U-15s stated ‘It will be an honour to put on Sierra Leone colours.’
”I would love to represent Sierra Leone and it will be an honour, it’s just a matter of them showing an interest really,” Sesay told footballballsierraleone.net
“I was 8-years-old when I came to Australia and I’ve played for several clubs in the second division.
“I have represented Australia as a junior in Singapore, but my aspirations have always been to represent my country, Sierra Leone.”
”If Sierra Leone comes calling and showed that they wanted me, why not?”
The Perth-based soccer club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia which is one grade lower than the Australian A-League.
They are presently third in the NPL standings four points adrift of league leaders Inglewood United.
David Sesay has been on the books of the Western Australian side as a 14-year-old boy before leaving to get more playing time by joining Bayswater.
“I joined Stirling Lions at the age of 14 but left to peruse first team football at Bayswater United, before rejoining this season. He explained.

The 21-year old forward joined IFK Norrköping in the camp in Dalarna and played in their 7-0 victory against the local team last Saturday but was absent from the team’s Monday session in the sunshine on Östgötaporten.
“He has a little groin troubles. He has been examined but we do not know yet how serious it is, Norrkoping manager Jens Gustafsson told corren.se after the training tie.
“We’ll see how it goes the rest of the week. We have a small picture of him but it is too small. There is definitely a need to see him more.
Jens Gustafsson was disappointed not to see more of the striker, “deeply unhappy” that Sheka Fofanah does not show up as much as it was originally intended.
The Leone Stars match winner against Sudan who has been described as ‘hungry but damaged’ also told corren.se.
“This is my first time in Europe. I want to play here. This is a big step for me, he stresses while he is watching training from the stands.
“Alhaji Kamara is my friend. He has only said good things about the club IFK Norrköping. I know of course Teteh and Mohamed Bangura,” said Fofanah.
When asked to describe his ability, Fofanah explained: “I’m fast, technical; believed in myself, I work to make my team better. It is a big step in my life to be here.”
Fofanah in four appearances for Sierra Leone has scored twice, one against Gabon in Franceville and Sudan in Freetown in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
