Ghana international midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah (pictured) will need surgery after tearing cartilage and Rugani has a strained ligament.
The hardworking, energetic and tactically versatile player Asamoah and Juventus’ Italian defender Daniele Rugani were injured following the 1-0 win at Palermo in Serie A.
The Italian giants (Juventus) said on Sunday that both players are expected to return in 45 days.
Asamoah, 27, will also rule out for Ghana’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda on 7 October.
A double blow for the five-time Serie A champions with Medhi Benatia and Claudio Marchisio still out injured.
“Asamoah has suffered a rupture of the medial meniscus ligament in his right knee, while Rugani has a strained collateral lateral ligament in his right knee,” said the club statement.
Asamoah is expected to “undergo keyhole surgery”, while Rugani is set for more “moderate treatment”, added the statement.
Asamoah made his debut for the Ghana national team, Black Stars, in 2006, under French manager Claude Le Roy.

Sierra Leone international David Simbo was happy to help Yeni Amasyaspor to their 4-0 victory over Şubat Erzincan GK on Sunday.
The former Krumkachy Minsk defender, who signed for the Turkish side for an undisclosed fee in August, is completely focused on the task at hand after making his debut in Sunday’s win over Şubat Erzincan GK, and he’s happy to put any personal ambitions to one side.
Simbo told footballsierraleone.net, “It was important for me to keep my mind strong and work to get back on the pitch as quickly as possible. It was a good victory and I was delighted to be part of this group. I want to keep playing football that’s why I came here. No matter the club or division I am happy to keep playing football.”
The 26-year-old joined the Turkish side in a bid to rejuvenate his football career following lack of regular football in the Belarusian top flight.
He was very frustrated in Belarus before penned a one-year deal with the newly promoted side.

Striker on why he’s joined, AGF Aarhus
New AGF Aarhus striker Mustapha Bundu says he is very happy to have joined a great group of players’ as he settles into life at Ceres Park, Aarhus.
The 19-year-old striker joined the Danish Superliga side on a one-year loan deal with an option to extend his contract.
Having spent the past few days accustoming to his new surroundings, the Sierra Leone youngster feels he will fit perfectly with the Whites.
He said:”I was here before for ten days to train with the team but I had to go and see my people and now I thanked God have seen my people now I’m looking forward to playing.”
“AGF Aarhus is a good club, it feels good and I know few people that have been here some Ghanaian boys, someone that I was very close to was here his name is Mohamed Abu. They said good stuff about AGF.

Joao Teixeira scored his first two goals for Wolves as Walter Zenga’s side beat Brentford 3-1 at Molineux.
The 21-year-old hailing from Sierra Leonean parents pulled a goal back for Brentford before Ivan Cavaleiro scored Wolves’ stoppage-time third goal.
It was a bittersweet feeling for the Crystal Palace graduate who puts emphasis on improving in upcoming matches.
Kaikai tweeted “Disappointing result today, chance to make things right next game. Happy to get off the mark for @BrentfordFC #PraisebetoGod.”
He told the club website: “It’s always good to get on the score sheet. But at the end of the day, we’re a team and we wanted three points. We were a bit unfortunate today but we’ll go again next week.”
The Bees signed the highly-rated winger from Crystal Palace on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day.

Fifa president, Gianni Infantino has consoled the Sierra Leone Football Association and Sierra Leoneans following the sudden death of former Leone Stars international, Alphajor Bah, who passed away on Wednesday.
The Fifa boss Infantino, expressed his dismay and immense sadness on the passing of the former Leone Stars striker.
“I was sad to hear the passing away of the former Sierra Leone striker and legend Mahmadu Alphajor Bah (‘Gazza’) who died in a road accident in Freetown last Wednesday. Please accept my deepest condolences.”
“On behalf of the members of the international football community, I should be grateful if you could also extend our condolences to his family and loved ones.
“We hope that in some way, our words of support may help bring a little bit of peace and solace in this time of sadness.”
Late Mamadu Alphajor Bah
Bah, 39, was laid to rest on Thursday in Freetown in a well-attended civic funeral that attracted people from all walks of like.
The late Alphajor made over 30 appearances for Leone Stars.
In his professional career he played for Halmstads BK in Sweden, KSC Lokeren in Belgium, Chunnam Dragons in South Korea, Xiamen Lanshi and Zhejiang Lücheng in China, Al-Qadisiya in Saudi Arabia, and Perlis FA in Malaysia.
