Tyronne Ebuehi, 22, has completed his move from ADO Den Haag to Portuguese giant club Benfica.
Ebuehi, who is one of the top performers in the Eredivisie, has been on Benefica radar for a while and on Saturday 19 May, finally signed on a five-year deal.
Ebuehi, who will be playing outside the Netherlands for the first time confirmed his move to the Lisbon-based outfit via his official Instagram account.
“Can’t wait to start here at this beautiful club. 5 years ago, I played amateur football and look where I am now. Grateful for where I am now, but there is still a long way to go!”
“From me, fans can expect work. I want to help the team fight for their goals,” said Ebuehi.
“I hope to be in Nigeria squad for the World Cup. It is the dream of any player. I want to be in Russia, “the young defender told the club’s website.
Ebuehi was born in the Netherlands and made over 78 appearances for ADO Den Haag.
The defender has made just two appearances for the Super Eagles.

Scarborough lost last year’s CSL Championship final to York Region Shooters 5-4 on penalties.
Sierra Leone International, John Trye, who plies his trade in the Canadian Soccer League (CSL) with Scarborough SC, says he is ‘enjoying every moment’
The 33-year-old is relishing the prospect of leading his new club to triumph when the semi-professional league commences on Saturday, May 19.
Trye is hoping they can emulate last season with a step better.
Scarborough lost last year’s CSL Championship final for the title to York Region Shooters 6-5 on penalties.
Their first league outing is away to FC Ukraine United at the Centennial Stadium before hosting Hamilton City the following Sunday.
Trye, who has won only two caps with Sierra Leone, has been pleased with his side preparation.
Speaking to Football Sierra Leone, the goalie said, “I am enjoying every moment since joining the club and I am very excited going into the new campaign.”
“The Manager and everyone at the club working towards success. Last season was a bit disappointing after losing the final for the title.”
“It’s nice to say we are hoping to go one step better this season.”
The veteran is not worried about who starts in goal but will be happy if his side starts with a win.
Trye explained: “Football is a team game so I still enjoy it as a footballer even when I’m not playing. The attitude is that whoever plays, the focus is to start our new season well.”
Tyre was the goalie for Sierra Leone when they lost to DR Congo 3-1 in their final Group D, African Cup of Nations qualifying match at the Stade Tata Raphaël in November 2014.

The American sportswear giant, Nike have confirmed that it had received over three million orders for the New designed Nigeria jerseys ahead of the 21st FIFA World Cup opener in Russia.
At a meeting with chieftains of the Nigeria Football Federation at its Europe headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the sportswear behemoth also used the opportunity to announce that the release of the jerseys into the global market would happen on Tuesday, 29th May at unit cost of $85.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Amaju Pinnick attended the meeting in company with NFF second Vice President, Mallam Shehu Dikko. NIKE’s Vice President/General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Matthus Visch was in company with Sales Director, Mr Wouter van Olm.
Both organizations used the opportunity to appraise their running agreement signed in London three years ago and while both expressed satisfaction with the contract, the imperative of penning a new, improved contract was high on the agenda.
The first side from Africa to reach Russia, Nigeria continues their impressive run of appearances at the finals, having missed only one tournament – Germany 2006 – since qualifying for their debut in 1994.
The Super Eagles will open their 2018 campaign against Croatia June 16 at the Kaliningrad Stadium.

May 2017 Fifa ranking
The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone have plummeted further down to 103rd in the latest FIFA rankings.
The latest ranking was released on Thursday on FIFA’s official website
Leone Stars last played in March in a warm-up friendly to World Cup-bound Iran.
Iran takes apart a Sierra Leone side largely dominated by local stars 4-0 in an international friendly at the Tehran’s Azadi Stadium March 17.
Also in Africa, Sierra Leone, who will take on Ethiopia in September in the race for Cameroon 2019 static in 22nd position.
Meanwhile, The Leone Stars are still ahead of two of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Group F qualifying opponents Kenya 111 and Ethiopia 146 in the world respectively.
Kenya’s next opponent in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier Ghana moved a place up to 50th in the world and 8th in Africa.
Sierra Leone last victory was against Kenya in the opener of African Nations Cup 2019 qualifiers in Freetown.
CAF Top Ten
Tunisia, Senegal, DR Congo, Morocco, Egypt, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde Islands.
Meanwhile, The world top ten ranked countries, Germany still top of the pile, Brazil in second, Belgium in third, Portugal fourth and Argentina fifth.

Spanish giant, FC Barcelona walked away comfortable with a 3-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nelson Mandela Centenary Cup clash on Wednesday.
Luis Suarez was among the goalscorers as Barcelona proved too strong for South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ousmane Dembele and Andre Gomes also scored for the Spanish champions before Sibusiso Vilakazi replied for the hosts at Soccer City, near Johannesburg.
Barca forward Lionel Messi came off the bench to a standing ovation.
The match is part of South Africa’s celebrations to mark 100 years since the birth of Nelson Mandela.
Mandela, South Africa’s first black president, died in December 2013 at the age of 95.
The Sundowns had to persuade Guinean club Horoya, and the Confederation of African Football, to postpone their Champions League tie by a week in order to play.
Barcelona concludes their domestic campaign against Real Sociedad at the Nou Camp on Sunday.
