Sierra Leone-born Chelsea young defender, Trevoh Chalobah has signed for English Championship side Ipswich Town on loan.
The 18-year-old becomes the club’s first signing of the summer. Trevoh is the younger brother of Nathaniel Chalobah, who is now an England International.
Trevoh is still eligible to play for his country of birth Sierra Leone.
The Chelsea’s academy defender has represented England across the younger age groups and was part of the side which won the European Under-19 Championships in 2017.
“Very grateful for the opportunity to join @Official_ITFC on loan for the season. Excited to get started, to learn and to give everything I’ve got for the team and the fans #itfc,” the youngster on Twitter.
Ipswich boss Paul Hurst believes the youngster has something to prove at Portman Road. He said: “He’s very comfortable on the ball, and he’s a very good player.
“He’s at an age where people might question him as he’s a bit young. There will be demands put on him that he might not have encountered in the past but from speaking to him I know he’s hungry to succeed.
“I like players who maybe have a little bit of something to prove and in Trevor’s case, he’s got a lot to prove. There’s a lot of good publicity around him in terms of potential but he understands, and he wants to go out and deliver.”
Ipswich kicks off their Championship 2018/19 campaign at home to newly-promoted Blackburn on August 4.

Sierra Leone striker, Alhaji Kamara has been in a red-hot form in the Moldovan top-flight after his latest impressive goalscoring form with FC Sheriff.
The former IFK Norrköping attacker scored for the third game running in FC Sherriff’s 1-0 win over FC Zimbru Chişinău today Sunday, June 24.
Since joining the club in February, he has registered eight goals in all competitions in this campaign.
Today’s goal was his third in succession following his brace in the Moldovan Cup as Sherrif thrashed second-tier side FC Iskra-Stal 7-0 on Wednesday, four days after registering his first hat-trick for the club.
The League leaders are three points ahead of second place club FC Milsami Orhei after winning their last four matches securing 29 points from 12 matches.

HASSAN MILLA SESAY (pictured) scored first goal in FC LAHTI win in FINLAND
The 30-year-old defender scored his first goal of the season to help his Veikkausliiga side FC Lahti come from behind to draw 1-1 away to TPS 1922 Friday, June 15.
The host took the lead from Elias Ahde’s goal just before the break before the Sierra Leone international ensured a point for his side in the 61st into the second half with a superb strike.
This season is Sesay’s fifth consecutive FC Lahti shirt. In total, he has played over 105 matches for the club scoring six goals.
The Left-back has been twice involved in exporting FC Lahti to European competitions. In the team since Jan 1, 2014.
FC Lahti on Wednesday, June 20 played to a goalless draw away to Ilves Tampere in round fifteen of the Finish Veikkausliiga.
ICELAND UMF Vikingur deild League: Kwame Quee on target again
The attacking midfielder was on target again for his side away from home on Wednesday, June 20 in Vikingur’s 2-0 win over ÍF Thor.
The FC Johansen on-loan player scored his second league goal of the season in the 77th minutes before Icelandic-born Ingibergur Kort Sigurdsson completed the victory in the 79th.
Quee, 21, accounted for his first league goal of the season as UMF Vikingur thrashed IF Leiknir 3-0 on Wednesday, June 13th.
He scored five in ten league games last season.
ALHAJI KAMARA scores brace in Sheriff thumping over Iskra-Stal
Alhaji Kamara was twice on target again four days after registering his first hat-trick for the club.
FC Sheriff thrashed Moldovan second-tier side 7-0 at home in the round of 16 of the Moldovan Cup.
Kamara scored Sheriff’s sixth and seventh goal in the 88th and 91st minutes respectively as he recorded his eight in all competitions.
MICHAEL LAHOUD FC Cincinnati USL – USA
Lahoud was substituted in the 74th minute in their last league win on June 17th, as his high flying side thrashed Richmond Kickers 4-0.
The win strengthened their grip at the top of the 2018 Eastern conference standings of the United Soccer League.
Cincinnati, are six points ahead of second place Louisville City FC, who have three games at hand.

Thomas Koroma and Abdul ‘Buduski’ Sesay were both on target as TP47 defeat IFK Vaasa 2-0 to register first league win of the season on Wednesday.
Koroma, 25, opened the scoring for the hosts just before the hour mark with a close-range strike for his first of the season.
His compatriot Sesay (Pictured in action) doubles their lead in the 74th minute with a superb volley assisted by Jaakko Pyyny.
Another Sierra Leonean, who was on the losing end, is Foday Conteh.
Conteh was in action for the visitors Vaasa, who are presently eight in their Group C Kakkonen standings from ten matches this season.
Despite their first league win, TP47 are still bottom of the standing with one win from ten league encounters this season – losing their opening seven games.
They face Närpes Kraft next on the road on the 30th of June.

Sierra Leone-born attacking midfielder, Lamin Suma and Fresno FC have parted company by mutual consent.
Suma, 26, joined the club in December last year and played in some friendly matches before his contract was mutually terminated.
The California-based club announced that forward Lamin Suma has been released from his contract with Fresno FC and defender Justin Fiddes has been recalled by affiliate club Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Club’s statement: “The club would like to thank both players for their contributions to the club and wish them well on their future endeavours.”
Fresno FC is an American football team based in Fresno, California. Founded in 2017, the team is a member of the United Soccer League.
Before moving to the U.S, Suma has had spells with Serbian side FK Jagodina. Montenegrin First League side FK Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje where he played the 2012–13 seasons.
In summer 2013 he moved to Estonia and joined Meistriliiga side FC Flora Tallinn, before moving to Finnish third-tier side Atlantis FC in 2014.
