Sierra Leone have moved further down to 114th position from 111th in the latest FIFA global rankings announced on Thursday 20 September.
The national men’s soccer side suffered a 1 nil defeat in Ethiopia on September 9 at the Hawassa Stadium in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Prior to the Ethiopia defeat, they played to a goalless draw against the Lone Star of Liberia in an International friendly in Monrovia in July.
However, Sierra Leone’s opponents in the race to Cameroon 2019, Ghana down six places to 51st and Kenya, who are the biggest movers now sit 107 after earning 1204 points.

In Africa, Leone Stars is the 28th best team with Tunisia leading the pecking order.
Sierra Leone highest ever rankings came in August 2014, when they were ranked 50th globally.
Meanwhile, Belgium joined the top of the Fifa world rankings alongside World Cup winners France – the first time two teams have shared the top spot.
The only other change in the top 10 sees Denmark drop below Spain into 10th place.
Germany, who fell from first to 15th place in August after their group stage exit from the World Cup, have moved up to 12th.
The rankings were introduced in December 1992.
Belgium beat Iceland in the Nations League and Scotland in a friendly earlier this month, while France beat the Netherlands, but drew 0-0 with Germany in the Nations League.

Former Sierra Leone internationals and Ex-players donate $500 to the national U17 team that was purportedly stranded in Senegal. (Photo credit SLE HOC in Dakar Henry Nyandemoh.)
It now appears that the team may not have stranded after all but it was a breakdown in communication within the team and information that reached the news media.
The $500 donation came from notable Sierra Leone Ex Footballers Union, (SLEFU) members’ press release signed by legend and former Inter striker Mohamed Kallon (President).
The team is presently staying at the Yoff Hotel Dakar pending their return to Freetown on Friday.
The unfortunate news that the national youth U-17 team stranded in Dakar, Senegal has raised a serious discrepancy between the Ministry and the Sierra Leone Football Association.
However, according to Sierra Leone Head of Chancery at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Dakar, Henry Nyandemoh, the U17 team will depart the Senegalese capital on Friday on board Air Mauritania to Freetown.
“The players and coaching staff were unable to connect with their return flight to Freetown after Sierra Leone was knocked out of the competition by Senegal,” the Head of Chancery posted on his Facebook account.
“All efforts made to reschedule the flight before the expected date of departure proved impossible and the team had to spend a few more days in Dakar,” added Henry Nyandemoh.

Sierra Leone international John Kamara is “super excited”‘ and over the moon after making his 50th appearance for club side Kaisar Kyzylorda in the Kazakhstan Premier League on Sunday.
The midfielder, who joined Kaisar on 1 January 2017 from Latvian side FC Riga was excited to reach the milestone away to league leaders Astana FK.
It is the second time the midfield enforcer is achieving such a milestone with any club he’s played for in his career.
He made his Kaisar debut against Okzetpesa in their 1-0 win in March 2017.
The midfielder, whom last season made 30 appearances, was also happy to mark the occasion with a goalless draw in the Kazakhstan top league.
“I am happy, very happy to be able to play 50 matches since January 2017, Kamara told Football Sierra Leone.
He added, “I was also happy to help the team because we had a good result away to the league leaders Astana FK on Sunday.”
“It’s great to be trusted and I am looking forward to continuing helping the team. I’ve enjoyed playing for this club.”
Kamara was rated as one the most effective player in Latvia in 2016 season, where he made over 27 appearances in all competitions both in defence and midfield.
He played some part for Sierra Leone in the defeat in Ethiopia on September 9 at the Hawassa Stadium.

The Referees’ Association of Ghana (RAG) has handed lifetime bans to six more referees in the wake of an investigation into bribery, BBC Sport reports.
It also banned 47 match officials for 10 years each, while another 14 were exonerated.
RAG also confirmed the sanctions handed down by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) last month – two for life and six others for 10 years.
It brings the total with life bans to eight and those with 10-year bans to 53.
Those on the list released by RAG have until 1 October to appeal against the rulings.
The investigation was launched after the officials were secretly filmed accepting money by investigative journalist Anas Armeyaw Anas.
In a statement RAG said those facing lifetime bans “were found culpable for seriously breaching various portions of Disciplinary Code, Code of the Ethics and Regulations of the football controlling bodies by their actions and inactions.”
David Laryea and Reginald Lathbridge had already been banned for life by Caf, they have been joined by Safo Adade, Samuel Sukah, Dally Gagba, Furella Barnie, Charles Duwona and Umar Teni.
This is the latest fallout from Anas’ film that has seen the Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi resign from his post, as well as from positions he held with Caf and Fifa.
He has also been suspended for 135 days by football’s world governing body, Fifa, as it investigates corruption allegations, Nyantakyi has denied any wrongdoing.
On Thursday Fifa and Caf announced a 4 member normalisation committee to take charge of the football affairs in Ghana for the next six months.
Former football association board member Dr Kofi Amoah will head up the committee, he was in charge of the organising committee when Ghana hosted the 2008 Nations Cup.
The other members are Lucy Quist, a former chief executive of a telecoms company, Dua Adonten, a former Asante Kotoko board member and director general of Ghana Post as well as lawyer Naa Odofoley Nortey.

Kei Kamara was again on target for Vancouver Whitecaps, as they lost 2-1 against Seattle Sounders at BC Place on a rainy Saturday night.
The veteran attacker was also named Man of the Match following his outstanding display.
A record-breaking MLS crowd of 27,863 watched the Cascadia derby played with playoff intensity.
Kei Kamara’s 12th goal of the season was not enough as a brace from Raúl Ruidíaz gave Sounders maximum points.
Whitecaps will continue to fight to get above the playoff line with six matches remaining.
All goals were scored in the first half. The home team started well and nearly made it 1-0 early on when Kei Kamara’s knockdown found Nicolas Mezquida one-on-one with the keeper, but his shot went agonisingly wide.
The visitors’ Sounders opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Kelvin Leerdam and Cristian Roldan combined to set up Peruvian Raúl Ruidíaz.

Kamara was part of the Sierra Leone side that was defeated 1nil in Ethiopia during 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
