- Burkina Faso referee, Jean Ouattara, will officiate Sierra Leone 2021 African Cup of Nations opening qualifying tie against Lesotho on November 13 at the Freetown Siaka Steven Stadium.
The two nations for the first time will go toe to toe in their continental football history.
Ouattara, who has been an international since 2015 will take charge of Sierra Leone match for the second time in two months, but this time behind-closed-doors.
Before Sierra Leone’s Fifa sanction, Ouattara was the centre man in charge of Sierra Leone 1-0 victory over Liberia during the return leg encounter of the 2022 World Cup preliminary qualifier on September 8th, 2019 at the same venue.
Ouattara’s compatriots Seydou Tiama will be assistant ref 1, Ahabou Abdoura Wobgo assistant ref 2. Hamidou Diero is the fourth Burkinabe and will serve as the fourth official.
Liberia’s Deputy Minister of Sports G Andy Quamie is the Match Commissioner.
Meanwhile, the Lesotho Crocodiles are expected to arrive in Freetown on the 9th of November to honour their African Cup of Nations qualifier with a 26-man delegation.

- Sierra Leone’s Turay, Egypt’s Salah, and Ghana’s Jordan Ayew scored vital goals in their various leagues over the weekend.
MOHAMED BUYA TURAY (Djurgårdens IF)
24-years-old striker on loan from Belgium side Sint-Truidense has been pivotal all season.
He is the joint scorer in the Swedish Allsvenkan with 14 goals after his goal against Orebro in Djurgårdens 3-0 victory on Monday. With a game to go, Buya Turay (pictured) will be hoping to win his first career golden boot in the Swedish to-flight.
Djurgårdens will take on Norrköping FC on Saturday 2 November hopefully will be a day to remember for the Sierra Leonean.
MOHAMED SALAH (Liverpool)
The winger kept his cool to fire Liverpool to a 2-1 win over Tottenham as the leaders moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League. With Liverpool battling back from the shock of conceding a first-minute goal, Anfield was stirring when Jordan Henderson equalised. That set the stage for Salah to raise the roof when he blasted home from the penalty spot after Serge Aurier caught the back of Sadio Mane’s leg in the 75th minute.
JORDAN AYEW (Crystal Palace)
Ghana forward scored his fourth goal of the season to give Palace an impressive 2-2 draw at Arsenal. Roy Hodgson’s side were two goals down after nine minutes but got one back through a penalty after Ivory Coast star Wilfried Zaha was fouled. Ayew completed the Palace fightback in the 52nd minute when he headed home.
WILFRED NDIDI (Leicester)
The Nigeria midfielder was part of a historic occasion as Leicester powered to a record-breaking 9-0 thrashing of Southampton. Although
Ndidi didn’t get on the scoresheet, he played the full 90 minutes and delivered a typically influential display as hat-tricks from Jamie Vardy, and Ayoze Perez to helped Leicester record the biggest away win in English top-flight history.
KARL TOKO EKAMBI (Villarreal)
Ekambi continued his hot streak by scoring twice to fire Villarreal to a 4-1 win over Alaves. The Cameroon striker sprinted clear in the 13th minute and lifted the ball in for the opening goal of the match to restored Villarreal’s lead shortly after the hour by poking in Moi Gomez’s cross at the near post. Ekambi has scored five goals in his last four games.
AMAD TRAORE (Atalanta)
Seventeen-year-old Ivorian forward Traore came on as a late substitute and scored six minutes later on his debut to complete a 7-1 rout by Atalanta over Udinese. “This goal will remain forever in my head,” said the brother of Sassuolo’s Hamed Junior Traore, after becoming the first player born in 2002 to score in Italy.
NICHOLAS OPOKU (Udinese)
The Ghanaian defender was sent off after picking up a second yellow card within half an hour of the kick-off. The 22-year-old’s absence hit Udinese hard with the club conceding six goals during the hour they were a man short to crumble 7-1 at Atalanta.

- Sierra Leone international John Trye was pleased after Scarborough won their first Canadian Soccer League Championship title after three finals in a row since joining the in 2016.
- SC Scarborough’s perseverance after losing two penalty-kick shootouts in the championships of 2017 and 2018, had finally paid off.
- Scarborough proved too strong as they beat FC Ukraine 2-0 Centennial Stadium on Saturday.

The contest was scoreless at the half until the 69th-minute when Scarborough striker Aleksander Stojiljkovic clever run from 12 yards to beat Ukraine United goalkeeper Oleksandr Popravka.
Ukraine United fought hard to get back with a couple of half misses, but a tripping foul in the penalty box was enough as Scarborough double the scores from the spot with a Stojiljkovic brace. The 2-0 lead held up until the final whistle.
Trye briefly told FSL News, “I am happy, proud and content after winning the first title of my career. It means everything to me, my family and the club.”
Trye added: “I’m delighted to be able to achieve something special with this club, as part of this squad.”
“Ukraine gave us a good game, but my team played well. I think we deserved the win,” said Scarborough GM.

- Sierra Leone’s Amadou Bakayoko scored the opener for Coventry City as Peterborough lost top spot in League One despite salvaging a dramatic draw at home to promotion rivals Coventry.
Max Biamou’s stunning scissor-kick in the 85th minute looked to have given the visitors their first away win of the season, only for Mo Eisa to level five minutes into stoppage time.
The Sky Blues had taken a deserved first-half lead through Amadou Bakayoko before Marcus Maddison equalised from the penalty spot.
Sierra Leone’s native Bakayoko’s opener came in the 12th minute from a Biamou through ball after Peterborough’s Louis Reed had lost the ball. The striker slotted home at the near post on his 50th appearance for the club.
But the dominant visitors were punished for not scoring a second goal seven minutes into the second half when Posh defender Mark Beevers flicked a header on to Ivan Toney who was fouled inside the area by Kyle McFadzean. Maddison sent goalkeeper Marko Marosi the wrong way.
Biamou’s superb effort from 15 yards looked to have won the match before Siriki Dembele found Eisa inside the area and he curled in his 11th league goal of the season.

- Lesotho coach Thabo Senong has named a 24-man provisional squad for 2021 Afcon qualifier against Sierra Leone & Nigeria scheduled for November.
The Southern Africa nation are in Group L alongside Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and Benin.
The Crocodiles of Lesotho will kick start their campaign in Freetown against Sierra Leone on November 13th before taking on Nigeria a few days later.
They are expected to arrive in Sierra Leone on the 9th of November with a 26-man delegation, and the tie is scheduled to be played at the Siaka Steven Stadium.
Sierra Leone will face Lesotho for the first time in history. The two nations have never previously met at any international level, but one thing they do have in common is the colours of their national flags are the same.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone coach Sellas Tetteh has named 24-man home-based players in preparation ahead of matches against Lesotho and Benin next month.
All 21 players that represented Sierra Leone at the just-concluded West African Football Union (Wafu) Cup in Senegal are in the squad including Suffian Kolokoh, who scored the only goal that eliminated Liberia in the tournament that takes Sierra Leone to the quarter-finals.
