Guinean head coach Kaba Diawara has named his final squad ahead of the 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nations next month.

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is one of the prominent players for the West African nation. The 24-team event will start in Cameroon from 9th Jan to 6th of February 2022.

Guinea will start their AFCON campaign at the Stade de Kouekong, Bafoussam, taking on Malawi on January 10, 2022. 

The Syli will open their camp on December 26 in Conakry, and the head coach will have two friendlies against Rwanda in early January.

Meanwhile, there is still uncertainty over the tournament going ahead as planned. However, the caf a few days ago dismissed these rumours.

Organisers have stated that only fans who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with proof of a negative test can attend January’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Algeria left it late to score twice in extra time as they defeated neighbours Tunisia 2-0 to win the FIFA Arab Cup at the Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar on Saturday.

Amir Sayoud scored in the 99th minute of extra time before Yacine Brahimi completed their triumph at the Al Khor city to ensure they emerged victorious.

As a result, they have added the Arab crown to the Africa Cup of Nations title they won in 2019, which they’ll start to defend against Sierra Leone next month at the Japoma Stadium in Douala.

A few hours earlier, Qatar and Egypt faced off in the third-place match, both teams seeking consolation after their semi-final elimination on Wednesday.

French coach Patrice Neveu will open his training camp in Dubai according to the Fédération Gabonaise de Football.

They are expected to leave Gabon on the 27th of December for Dubai ahead of two friendlies scheduled, notably against the Elephants of the Ivory Coast and the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde.

Gabon will open their Group C 2021 AFCON campaign against newcomers Comoros at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, Yaoundé 10 January 2022 before taking on Ghana and Morocco 14 and 18th January at the same venue, respectively.
