Keeper Mohamed Kamara is in line to make his club continental debut after being named in Horoya’s CAF Champions League Group stage squad.

Sierra Leone first-choice keeper Mohamed Kamara could make his CAF Champions League debut for Guinean side Horoya at the Stade General Lansana Conté against Tanzanian side Simba SC on Saturday.

Africa’s top Inter clubs’ Group stage will kick off on Friday, 10 February 2023.

Kamara, 23, was named in Horoya’s official squad list for the Group Stage phase of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League published by CAF.

The Sierra Leonean sensation of the 2021 African Cup of Nation keeper, who signed a two-year deal with Horoya Athletic Club in May 2022, has featured in their six league games this season.

He was named Man of the Match in the Sierra Leone draw with Algeria on January 11 2022, at the Japoma Stadium, thanks to a brave display that saw him frustrate one of the tournament’s favourites.

He saved a vital spot-kick against the Ivory Coast that saw the Leone Stars rallied to a 2-2 draw at the Japoma Stadium.

Kamara helped East End Lions win the 2018/2019 season unbeaten, four points ahead of FC Kallon.

Simba SC have confirmed 45-man delegate will travel with Ethiopia with travel by Ethiopian Airlines en route to Guinea.

The SLFA boss Daddy Brima was warmly welcomed by the Ghana FA boss Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, General Secretary Prosper Harrison Ado (Esq) and Deputy GS Alex Asante at the GFA’s headquarters.

GFA say their discussion was mainly focused on the smooth running of domestic competitions, operations, and National team restructuring, among others.

“We have a lot in common, obviously happy you are here. I am sure there is a lot to share among ourselves and a lot to learn from each other,” The GFA boss Simeon-Okraku noted.

“Our doors are always open, so please don’t hesitate to call on us as all our departmental heads are on hand to assist your staff in our developmental and growth agenda, he added.

The SLFA boss admonished that Ghana has blazed the rail in key areas of football management on the continent, and his administration deems it fit to understudy Ghana in their restructuring process.

Striker Musa Kamara returns to Bo Rangers on loan

Striker Musa Kamara returns to Bo Rangers on loan

Libyan club Al Ittihad striker Musa Noah Kamara is to join Bo Rangers on a six-month loan deal, Football Sierra Leone understands.

Bo Rangers are yet to make any official statement. However, a reliable source has confirmed this.

Al Ittihad announced Kamara’s capture in September last year on a free transfer after his contract with the reigning Sierra Leone champions was terminated.

The 22-year-old, who was unsettled upon his arrival in Libyan, has yet to play any match in the Libyan Premier League. He has been without active football for six months, but a loan move could revitalise his playing career.

Before his move, he was the Sierra Leone Premier League’s best player and top scorer. Kamara, who helped Rangers with 19 goals to win their first league title in 68 years, was part of the Sierra Leone side during the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The striker is a back-to-back golden boot winner – the Rangers striker is the first local star to achieve this milestone. He first won the 2019 Sierra Leone National Premier League with 15 goals with then-champions East End Lions.

He scored the first goal that helped to revive Sierra Leone to a 2-2 draw against the Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations group stage at the Japoma Stadium in January.

Kamara penned his first professional contract in 2019 with Swedish club Trelleborgs FF on a three-and-a-half-year deal in August 2019 but cancelled his contract after a week.
