“We have been consistent over the last three season. Unfortunately, we have not been able to lift the title,” John Trye told FSL News.
The experienced keeper added, “To win a Championship, you must show some amount of consistency. Since I joined Scarborough, we have played two finals, but no title.”
“Hopefully, this time we can go a step better if we make our third consecutive finals.”
Trye, who has been instrumental help Scarborough SC secured the runner-up position with a 2-1 victory over Serbian White Eagles in the only match played in the Canadian Soccer League on Sunday night.
They have one game remaining in the regular season, a visit to Esther Shiner Stadium to complete its regular season against FC Vorkuta on Saturday, September 28.
Vorkuta and Scarborough are the two most successful teams as they have occupied the top two positions in the First Division for most of the regular season.
Vorkuta and Scarborough will enter the Canadian Soccer League Championship quarterfinals with home advantage during the weekend of October 11-13.
The quarterfinals will be followed by the semifinals during the weekend of October 18-20.
The CSL Championship Final will be played at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke on Saturday, October 26.
Trye, 34, was the goalie for Sierra Leone when they lost to DR Congo 3-1 in their final Group D, African Cup of Nations qualifying match at the Stade Tata Raphaël in November 2014.

The Sierra Leone international is fifth in the all-time MLS scoring list with 124 goals.
Kansas City was in front with a goal from Fernandes Gerso after only three minutes, and the hosts had doubled their lead 11 minutes later when Rapids’ Tommy Smith turned the ball into his net while pressured by Krisztian Nemeth.
Colorado Rapids level the score-line from a Diego Rubio goal in the 76th minute from 16 yards, assisted by Smith, before Smith sealed the victory for Colorado with an 85th-minute header from a Price assists.
The Rapids next MLS outing is against Dallas on Sunday, and Sporting Kansas City’s next match is Wednesday on the road at Minnesota United.

Sierra Leone striker Mustapha Bundu accounted for Aarhus GF opener in front of over 10000 fans as they picked up their fifth win in a row on Friday night.
It was his fifth this season in ten matches for the Whites. Goals from Bundu and Mustafa Amini in the 28th and 80th minutes respectively, were enough as AGF move up to third in the Danish Super Liga standings.
Bundu’s goal was the only goal in the first half. However, after the restart, the home team started the second half as they finished the first 45 minutes pilling pressure on their visitors, and it paid off in the 67-minute.
The AGF defence had to surrender from a free-kick from the left side to the back post brought Moses Opondo leveller.
A couple of minutes later, Bundu was again presented with another chance but was unable to make it count.
Australian star Mustafa Amini registered the match-winner 10 minute to full time his left-footed shot proved pivotal for the visitors.
AGF’s next 3F Super League match is against FC Nordsjælland in matchday 11 on September 29 at Ceres Park.

Sierra Leone defender, David Simbo was pleased after helping his Northern Cyprus top tier side Baf Ülkü Yurdu thrashed Düzkaya 5-1 at the Güzelyurt Üner Berkalp Stadium on Saturday.
Simbo has expressed his delight as he headlines one of the county’s sports newspapers following the first week of the K-Pet Super League.
The 30-year-old centre-back, who wrapped up his move on the 7th of September was craving to get off to a fine start.
“I was pleased with a good 90-minute of football here. It was my first match, and I hope there will be a lot more,” he told FSL News.
“Looking forward to another, since I arrived I’ve trained a lot. I’ve tried to be more focus and comfortable.”
“Playing as a centre-back, you have to ready because of a lot of responsibility, but I felt comfortable.”
Last season, the agile defender played for Turkish side Kiremithanespor.
Simbo has had spells in Sweden with → Motala AIF (on loan), Trelleborg (on loan), Boden and Sandviken before joining Sudanese top-flight side Al-Hilal in 2014–2015 and later moved to Najran and Krumkachy Minsk in Belarus.
He started his playing career with local club Mighty Blackpool, where he was impressive before moving abroad.

- Striker Mustapha Bundu scored a hattrick in Aarhus GF big win 3-0 over Aalborg BK at Ceres park in matchday nine of the Danish Super Liga.
- Bundu, 22, who made his Sierra Leone debut against Liberia last Wednesday in the 2022 Africa World Cup Preliminary, was in superb form for his club in the Danish Superliga on Sunday.
Impressively, he fine the nets in the 6th, 35th and 65th respectively as they thrashed their visitors to move up to fourth on the table.
Bundu’s opened the scoring for his side after just 6 minutes after assisted by Bror Blume before his second of the day 30 minute later.
His third was from the penalty spot in the 65th minute in front of a jam-park stadium in Denmark.

- Augustus Kargbo has signed for Italian Serie C side Reggio Audace FC on loan from Serie B FC Crotone until the end of the season.
- The 20-year-old attacker is eager for first-team football. Kargbo, who recently signed a new three-year deal, tying him to the club until June 2022, is hoping to play more often with Audace.
The Sierra Leone-born is relishing the chance of some first-team action and hopes to gain more experience with his new club in their challenge for the Serie C title.
“To be honest, it was difficult for me in the past few weeks. The club didn’t want me to leave, and I wasn’t playing,” Kargbo told FSL online.
“I decided to move because I want to be playing regular football and hopefully I can show what I am capable of doing on the pitch.”
“I was not having enough chances at FC Crotone, but maybe this will help me get the playing time I’m craving to be able to make an impact.”
Kargbo, who had a spell with Campobasso in the Italian Serie D, has been a good player last season for FC Serie B FC Crotone.
