Augustus Kargbo was introduced in the 58th minute for FC Crotone to bookmark his first-ever appearance on the biggest stage of Italian club football.
Genoa dominated as they displaced class over their counterparts with a comfortable 4-1 win over newly-promoted FC Crotone at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium on Sunday.
Goals from Mattia Destro 4,’ Goran Pandev 9′, David Zappacosta 34′, and Marco Pjaca 75′ were enough, as they open their Seria Campaign with a big win.
Kargbo started on the bench and replaced Emmanuel Riviere, who scored in the 38th minute with a tap-in for the visitors.
The 21-year-old sensation has added to a strong list of Sierra Leoneans footballers with Serie A experience. The likes of Mohamed Kallon, Kewullay Conteh, and Rodney Strasser.
Crotone’s next outing is against AC Milan at home and Kargbo surely will be hoping thing go their way on Sunday the 27th.

Kamara, who began his MLS journey in 2006, has gone on to acquire a legendary status in the US men’s soccer.
Several reports have confirmed that Kamara will have to go through a quarantine process for COVID-19, which depending on the length, could keep him out of Minnesota’s next couple of games.
Kamara’s best season trading in the MLS was when he scored 26 goals for Columbus Crew in 2015 helping the club to the playoff and was a finalist for the league’s MVP award.
The Sierra Leone hitman has also had spells in the English Premier League and Championship with Norwich City and Middlesbrough in the 2013 and 2014 seasons respectively.

Sierra Leone International Osman Kakay has signed a new four-year deal with English Championship side Queens Park Rangers until 2024.
“I am delighted to have signed a new long term contract for the club where I started since I was seven,” Kakay told clubs website.
A few days ago, QPR boss Mark Warburton admitted that he was pleased with Kakay’s recent form.
The former Partick Thistle defender has been a QPR’s regular since his first start in 2-1 defeat against Fulham in June 2020.
Kakay has started both of Rangers’ games so far this season, having established himself in the side after the 2019-20 campaign resumed in June.
He was delighted after his English Championship side Queen Park Rangers opened their 2020/2021 campaign with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
Kakay scored his first senior goal in 3-2 defeat against Plymouth Argyle in their EFL Cup first-round knockout tie on the 5th September.
He played 11 matches for Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle while on loan.

- LA Galaxy II in-form striker Augustine Williams wants to hit double figures for the season.
- Williams, 23, who scored a brace helping his side to a comeback 3-2 win over Las Vegas Lights on Wednesday, admitted that he is definitely aiming at double figures before October 13 last regular-season game.
The Sierra Leone-born has already registered nine goals in 12 appearances in this campaign surpassed his seven goals last season.
“The first priority is to make playoffs, then everything else will fall into places. Also, I’m definitely aiming to double my figures in this campaign,” Williams told FSL News.
“Scoring for the team definitely means a lot to me knowing we’re trying to make the playoffs and every game is significant from now on.”
“To get a win like Wednesday puts us in a great place as we are trying to get high up the table.”
The former Portland Timbers 2 added, “I’m happy, the team is happy we got the job done on Wednesday. Now, we rest and get ready to go again next week.”
Williams will be hoping he can continue his good scoring run against San Diego Loyals on Wednesday.

- Newly promoted Serie A side FC Crotone have confirmed their squad numbers for the Italian 2020/2021 season ahead of their opener away to Genoa on Sunday.
- Sierra Leone-born promising youngster, Augustus Kargbo has been given number 24 jersey.
- Kargbo, who enjoyed a hugely productive loan spell, under the stewardship of Massimiliano Alvini, will wear the same number while on loan at Reggio Audace.
His winning goal over Bari at the Mapei Stadium Città del Tricolore in the Serie C playoff final on July 22 was his tenth in twenty-four appearances on loan helping the club to gain promotion.
Crotone will open their campaign away at Genoa on Sunday 20th September, and the striker will be hoping he gets the chance to be a part of the Serie A league game for the first time in his career.

- Attacker Mustapha Bundu played the last 10 minutes plus added time after replacing Belgian international Jérémy Doku in the 80th minute to bookmark his official debut since joining the Jupiler pro-side.
