Idris Kanu linked with MK Dons, Colchester United & Salford City

Peterborough United wide-man Idris Kanu, who made his Sierra Leone debut in Turkey in a 2-0 defeat to Comoros, is ‘ready to leave the club in January.

According to Football Insider, Colchester United, MK Dons and Salford City looking at a potential move for the 22-year-old attacker.

Kanu has featured five times in the Championship for Peterborough United this season, who currently sit in 22nd-place of the table after a tough start to life back in the second-tier.

He made 17 League One outings last time round and scored a couple of goals as Posh earned promotion.

Football Insider reported that Kanu is keen on sealing his exit from the Weston Homes Stadium in January as he searches for more regular first-team football.

Colchester United, MK Dons and Salford City. Both Colchester and Salford play their football in League Two, and either side sits in 18th and 11th respectively. MK Dons meanwhile sit in 6th-place on the League One table.

Kanu was impressive against Comoros when he was introduced to make his International debut in Leone Stars friendly last month in Turkey.

After three years in Sweden, Sierra Leone International defender Kevin Wright is to leave Orebro SK at the end of the season.

He joined the club in 2019, and during his three seasons at Behrn Arena, he has played 76 competitive matches and scored two goals. 

The club says after his contract expires, there will be no extension. “ÖSK would like to thank Kevin for his time at the club and wish him great luck in the next chapter of his career.”

With his playing style and ability to break patterns, he has also become a popular player among our fans. Mustapha Bundu nets as AGF share Superliga spoils with Silkeborg

Sierra Leone winger Mustapha Bundu scored his second goal for AGF as they shared 3F Superligaen spoils with Silkeborg IF at Ceres Park on Friday. 

AGF played to a 1-1 draw against Silkeborg as they failed to take maximum points to move closer to the top six in the 17th round of the Superliga.

Bundu, 24, who made his AGF second debut in September, scored in the 17-minute with a left-footed shot from inside the area.

The host was brilliant in the opening 20 minutes – most probably their best approach all season! Excellent pressure and total control on Silkeborg.

The visitors, on a few occasions, threatened with some good football looking for the equaliser. However, the AGF defence was awake as they held done to a first-half lead.

In the restart, Silkeborg IF was on the front foot mostly but could not take their chances until the 70th-minute when Rasmus Carstensen drew parity with his header.

Subsequently, both teams tried, but more goals did not come.

It was Bundu’s tenth league match in his second spell with the Whites. Bundu joined the cub on a season-long loan from Anderlecht on August 31st in a bid to revive his career.

The result means AGF stayed seventh on the log after their last two draws four points adrift off Silkeborg IF, who occupied fifth with 25 points.

Sierra Leone defender David Sesay joins Wealdstone

Sierra Leone defender David Sesay has signed for Wealdstone on a free transfer after leaving National League rivals Barnet.

The Ruislip London Borough-based outfit competes in the English National League. They are presently fifteen on the log after 16 matches on 21 points.

The 23-year-old, who earned his first call-up to Sierra Leone last month and made his debut in a 1-1 draw against South Sudan in October, departed Barnet on mutual consent.

Sesay, who played in all three matches for the Leone Stars in their training camp in Morocco last month, will continue on a new adventure after recovery from his injury.

The Watford Academy product began his professional career at Crawley Town, where he made 70 appearances in three seasons before joining Barnet this summer.

“We welcome David to the Stones! He will wear the number 11 shirt and goes straight into Saturday’s squad to face Stockport County,” the club announced on their website.

Steven Caulker set for Fifa green light to represent Sierra Leone

Former England defender Steven Caulker set to represent Sierra Leone at the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, Football Sierra Leone understands.

Caulker, 29, presently playing for Gaziantep FK on loan from Fenerbahce, will be a boost to coach John Keister’s side.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool centre-back, who was part of the Leone Stars training camp in Morocco, attestation were signed by the Sierra Leone government n Friday.

“Fifa was waiting on attestation. The government signed it today, so meaning we are good to go,” a source who wanted to remain anonymous told FSL Sport.

In October, the former Queens Park Rangers defender was pleased after playing for the Leone Stars in a 2-1 defeat to Morocco homebased side.

“Playing for Sierra Leone became an obvious choice, an obvious decision. I played for England at the age of 20 when I made my debut playing for the first team, but since then, I have not played for England, I have been a part of some squads but not on the pitch,” Caulker explained while speaking to BBC Fajah Barrie in Freetown.

He added, “The chance to come to Siera Leone to play football and to play football in the African Cup of Nation to come and get behind the nation in this exciting moment, for me, it became an easy decision to make.

“I am just happy to make the decision. I met with such love and warned love from all of the players. I feel at home – I visited Sierra Leone many times, I built a school in Kambia. My plan from the age of 19 was to give back to Africa, in particular Sierra Leone.”

Sierra Leone are in Group E after reaching the tournament after 25-years following a 1-0 win over Benin on June 16 at Stade Général Lansana Conté de Nongo. The TotalEnergies 2021 Africa Cup of Nations is the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Kamara bags Randers opener in UEFA Europa Conference League win

Sierra Leone striker Alhaji Kamara continues with his fine form helping his Danish side Randers to a 2-1 victory over Romanian CFR Cluj at their Cepheus Park Randers.

Kamara, 27, scored his second in the competition and Rangers first of the day with a right footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner assisted by Mikkel Kallesøe.

The visitors (CFR Cluj) draw parity from Ciprian Ioan Deac header from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner, assisted by Mateo Susic with a cross.

Randers winner came in the 76th-minute through Simon Piesinger (Randers FC) from a free-kick with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner.

Dutch side AZ Alkmaar had already won the group in 1st place with 11 points, followed by Randers on 7 points in 2nd place, while Czech FK Jablonec takes 3rd place with 6 points. CFR Cluj is last with 1 point. 

Before the tie, Randers was undefeated in this year’s group game. The win was their first in Group D. They will play the last group game on December 9 at 18.45 away against Dutch AZ Alkmaar. 

At the AFAS stadium, it is going to be an exciting last game between AZ and visitors Randers in the last round of the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage.
