Falkirk attacker Jaze Kabia happy with present form

Jaze Kabia playing as a striker for Falkirk, on loan from Livingston, is delighted with his current form.

The young attacker has been pivotal for the Scottish outfit with three goals in his last four games, helping the club to a fifth-place spot on the table.

Kabia scored his third of the season in Falkirk‘s 3-0 over Alloa Athletic on February 8th.

“I have played four games since I joined Falkirk on loan and scored three times and a couple of assists also. I am pleased to have started pretty well. Hopefully, long may it continue,” Kabia told FSL news.

He was born in Ireland to an Irish mother, an English father and his grandad was from Sierra Leone named Moses James Kabia.

“I was born in Ireland – my mum is Irish, my dad is English. So, I played all my youth football in Ireland, where I started my professional career.”

Kabia, 21, who has confirmed his grandad is from Sierra Leone, started his career with Cobh Ramblers, where he spent a season and a half before moving to Shelbourne in 2020.

Kabia signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Scottish Premiership side Livingston on January 8th 2021, before he was sent on loan to join Scottish League One side Falkirk until the end of the season.

Sierra Leone striker Alhaji Kamara’s Danish side Randers FC will travel to face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in their first leg knockout of the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday evening (8 pm GMT kick-off).

Randers finished runners-up in Group D of the UEFA Europa Conference League and were seeded in the draw whilst the Foxes finished third in their Europa League pool to set up a two-legged tie.

The first leg is scheduled for 17 February at King Power Stadium, while the second leg will take place on 24 February at Randers Stadium. The winner over two legs will decide who progresses into the last-16 of the inaugural Conference League tournament.

While this is Randers’ first match against English opponents in the UEFA competition, Leicester have been paired once before with a Danish club, beating FC Copenhagen 1-0 at home before drawing 0-0 away to them in the group stage of the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League. Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel kept clean sheets for Leicester in both legs against the champions of his homeland.

Sierra Leone International Alhaji Kamara has scored twice in the group stages for Randers in the last five matches.

All winners of the ties earn a place in the round of 16 draw on 25 February, where they will be unseeded. The seeded teams are AZ Alkmaar, Basel, Copenhagen, Feyenoord, Gent, LASK, Rennes and Roma.

Sierra Leone’s Bakayoko nets Bolton’s winner over Oxford

Amadou Bakayoko scored a late winner for Wanderers as they made a statement to the rest of League One by beating Oxford United at Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

As a result, Bolton moved up to tenth in the English League One standings. Twice coming from behind, the visitors rallied to take home vital maximum points away from home.

Billy Bodin scored a brace for the host team as four goals came in a thrilling first half. Oxford took the lead on nine minutes when Gavin Whyte was tripped and Bodin bent the resulting 25-yard free-kick into the top corner.

Wanderers replied straight from the restart, with Declan John drilling a low angled shot past Jack Stevens to the delight of the 1,750 visiting fans.

After chances at both ends, Bodin took a pass from Whyte pass on 32 minutes, jinked inside a defender and unleashed another fierce left-footed effort past James Trafford from the edge of the box.

Bolton again hit back quickly, Fossey firing over Stevens’ head and into the goal from 16 yards six minutes later.

But it was Bakayoko who had the final say with his eight goals in twenty-three matches for Bolton.
