Players Abroad: Issa Kallon nets as Kevin Wright makes debut

Winger Issa Kallon scored in their home defeat to Ajax on Friday. However, Ryan Gravenberch’s excellent strike in the 92nd minute ensured a 3-2 win for Ajax over Cambuur.

Dusan Tadic and Ivorian star man Sébastien Haller had given the visitors a first-half two-goal cushion in the 3rd and 40h minute, respectively.

After the restart, in the 48th minute, Issa Kallon pulled one back for the hosts from a corner.

In the 79th minute, Nicolas Tagliafico’s poor pass was picked up by Tom Boare, who finds Patrick Joosten before he converted past Andre Onana.

But Ajax’s late resilience paid off in the 92nd minute when Ryan Gravenberch scored the winner to restore their five points lead at the top of the Eredivisie while Cambuur remained 8th.

In Sweden, Sierra Leone’s left-back has been named in the IK Sirius first team to face IFK Mariehamn in their friendly match on Saturday.

A few days ago, Wright, 26, agreed on a deal until the 2024 season with the Swedish outfit.

Both Kallon and Wright are expected to be part of Sierra Leone’s training camp in Turkey later this month.
