Chalobah pens new long-term Chelsea contract

Sierra Leone-born Trevoh Chalobah has signed a new long-term deal under Graham Potter that will keep him at Chelsea until at least 2028.

Since the arrival of Potter, the 23-year-old has become a pivotal figure for the London club featuring in 12 out of the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager’s 14 games at the helm.

Chalobah, who has made 43 appearances in total for the Blues, admitted his delight.

The defender, who has been with Chelsea since the age of nine, said: “I’m over the moon to sign this contract. It’s been an honour every time I put the shirt on. I want to give my all and do anything for this club.

“As everyone knows, I’ve been here from a young age and to continue here is every kid’s dream. Whenever I get the chance, I’ll give my all for the club and look for the future ahead.”

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali said: “We’re delighted that Trevoh will be extending his stay with Chelsea.
“He has been with us since childhood and has grown into an exceptional young player.

“He’s an important part of our men’s first-team squad, and we’re excited to see what’s next for Trevoh at Chelsea.”

Mustapha Bundu ends Andorra’s goal drought

Sierra Leone International Mustapha Bundu scored his first two goals for Spanish side FC Andorra in their 4-0 triumph over CD Lugo on Sunday.

Bundu, 25, on loan from Belgium club Anderlecht, has ended his goal drought with two goals in the 69th and 74th minutes as they thrashed CD Lugo.

Andorra dominated the early stages without creating any clear-cut chances. They were unable to score in the first half. However, all four goals came in the last 25minutes of the contest.

Another brace from Sinan Bakis completed their big win as they moved to eight in the league.

Their next league outing is on Monday when they travel to face UD Ibiza

Cambuur defender Alex Bangura extends contract to 2024

Sierra Leone defender Alex Bangura has extended his Cambuur contract until 2024.

“The option in the contract of the 23-year-old left-back has been lifted. Bangura is under contract with SC Cambuur until the summer of 2024,” the club said in their statement.

Bangura, who joined Cambuur from Feyenoord’s youth academy in 2018, has made almost a hundred appearances for SC Cambuur.

The Sierra Leone International has been an integral figure for the Dutch top tier in the last three seasons.

Presently, in Dubai with the Sierra Leone national team ahead of two training camp matches this week.

Attacker Idris Kanu takes his season tally to 5 goals

Attacker Idris Kanu recorded his fifth of the season in Barnet‘s 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park on Saturday.

Sierra Leone International is enjoying a positive start to the season at Barnet.

The frontman opened the scoring in the 57th minute before Harry James Pritchard doubled their lead in the 87th-minutes as the Bees moved up to seventh in the National League table.

The versatile attacker, who arrived to bolster Dean Brennan’s attack for the 22/23 season, has been on a good run since joining the club in September.

Three wins in their last five games, and their next outing is against Chelmsford City in the FA Cup on Monday.

Demba Kamara nets first goal for Victor SM

Sierra Leone International Demba Kamara recorded his first league goal for Italian fifth-tier side Victor San Marino in a 3-0 win over USD Classe on Sunday.

Thanks to a brace from captain Ambrosini in the 15 and 23 minutes, respectively. Demba Kamara added their third in the 45th minute, his first of the season.

The win means they strengthen their grip on the Girone B staining after an emphatic victory at the Eccellenza Emilia stadium.

Kamara’s goal came just before the break in the 45-th minute. Playing in midfield, Kamara received a through ball that he converted with a chip for his first goal.

Cassani’s men rise to 34 points and remain, once again, in the lead of group B with a considerable advantage over the pursuing teams (+6 points over Sanpaimola and Savignanese as well as +7 points over Russi).

Their next outing is against Sant’Agostino on Sunday, 13th November, at 14.30 local time.

Attacker Idris Kanu enjoying life at Barnet FC 

Sierra Leone attacker Idris Kanu is enjoying a positive start to the season at Barnet.

The frontman has scored four goals in his last five games for the Bees helping his new club climb up to the mid-table.

Kanu, who arrived to bolster Dean Brennan’s attack for the 22/23 season, has been a good addition.

“I am pleased to be back playing week in and week out, being able to show what I can do on the pitch,” the former Peterborough attacker told FSL News.

“I enjoyed creating chances, scoring goals helping my team as much as possible.”

Kanu, 22, was in Barnet action again on Saturday in their 1-1 FA Cup qualifying round draw against Chelmsford City at the Hive Stadium.

The versatile attacker, who has previously played for Aldershot Town, Port Vale, Boreham Wood and Northampton Town, has been in great form since joining the Bees.

Kanu can play either out-wide or centrally and joins Barnet as our new No. 11.

Barnet’s upcoming games are against AltrinchamOldham Athletic AFC and Torquay United on the 8th, 12th and 19th, respectively.
