John Kamara ‘looking forward’ to Kaisar debut

Former FC Riga midfielder, John Kamara says he is looking forward to making his FK Kaisar Kyzylorda debut on Tuesday, March 8 in the Kazakhstan Premier League opener.

The 28-year-old signed for the newly promoted Kazakhstan top flight side on a one-year deal and has been training with the club in the past few weeks getting acquainted with his new environment but now it’s time to take to the field to earn his much-awaited debut.

The Sierra Leone international is expected to make his debut for FC Kaisar next Tuesday as they get ready to face FK Okzhetpes Kokshetau in front of their home fans.

“I’m very excited and I can’t wait to get going, he said. “It’s what we train for. Stepping out the pitch and get to show what I can give to the fans,” Kamara told footballsierraleone.net.

He added: “Everything we do out on the training pitch is for that moment. I’m really looking forward to playing my first match with FC Kaisar.”

Kamara was rated as one the most effective player in Latvia last season, where he made over 27 appearances in all competitions both in defence and midfield.

Seattle Sounders striker open to Sierra Leone call-up

Seattle Sounders on loan striker Victor Mansaray has said he will be available to don the green, white and blue jersey of Sierra Leone if called upon.

Mansaray, who has made three MLS appearances for Sounders, told Football Sierra Leone on Saturday he will relish the opportunity to represent Sierra Leone.

“I am doing very well here in the US, I recently joined FC Cincinnati on loan until the end of 2017 campaign,” Mansaray stated. “I am looking forward to a good start in the league.

When asked about representing Sierra Leone, he said: “I will relish any opportunity to represent Sierra Leone if called upon and I believe I will be able to prove myself if given the opportunity,” He told footballsierraleone.net via WhatsApp from his US base.

“I’m only 20 and I’ve made up my mind to come back home and play if called upon, I’ve been making progress every year, and I have come a long way since joining the Sounders academy midway through the 2012–2013 seasons.

“In November 2014, I was the fourth Seattle home-grown player in the club’s history at age 17 to joined the first team.”

The 5 ft 11 in forward confirmed he was born and raised in western area Tengbeh town in Freetown.

In his early teens, Mansaray made 20 appearances for the U-16’s scoring 11 goals and followed it up the following season with a team-leading 18 goals in 24 games.

International

Mansaray is very popular in the United States of America junior ranks, he was selected to the U.S. under-18 national team in August 2014 and has played two games in the friendly tournament hosted by the Czech Republic, against Hungary and Ukraine.

In December 2014, Mansaray received his third and fourth caps in two games against the Germany under-18 national team.

He was recently named in the US-20 squad for the Dallas Cup.

Kamara scores for Hacken in Cup victory over Atvidabergs

Sierra Leone international and former Örebro SK striker Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara (Pictured with teammates) showed he is still as deadly as ever in front of goal as his opening goal helped Hacken see off Atvidabergs 3-1 in their second Svenska Cup Group 8 tie on Saturday.

Kamara, 24, who has scored six goals in all competitions, found the net in the 5th minute and put his side on the road to victory at the Bravida Arena.

Against Norrtalje, Kamara scored a brace as BK Hacken ease through a 4-0 victory in their first match of the Swedish Cup last weekend.

The Sierra Leone star has now scored six goals (6) for Hacken in all competitions including three during their pre-season camp in the Dubai International Cup tournament.

Hacken’s next match in the Cup group stage is against former club Orebro SK on Sunday 5, 2017 at the Behrn Arena.

The Allsvenskan side will start their 2017-18 league season away to AIK Sunday, April 2, 2017, 15:00 at the friends Arena.

Ishmael Koroma was left disappointed to exit the Swedish Cup following Nyköpings BIS two straight defeats.

The Sierra Leone international was in Nyköpings BIS side that suffered another 5-1 thrashing against Östersund on Saturday.

The frustrated 20-year-old says Nyköpings will bounce back quickly but acknowledges their first two cup matches was a disappointment.

They were also defeated in their opening group 7 Cup game 3-2 against Hammarby last Saturday at the Rosvalla IP.

“I was very disappointed obviously, said Koroma. “We had a plan, and I think we started well, but after we got a man sent off early on in the match it became difficult for us,” he told footballsierraleone.net.

“In our first game, we played better because we came from three goals down to 3-2 and we were unlucky not to get a draw.”

Nyköpings BIS are first from the bottom from Group 7 and they will be playing for pride when they face Varbergs BoIS FC at the Påskbergsvallen Arena next Sunday, March 5, 2017.

International

Kamara has played 24 times for the Sierra Leone national team, scoring four goals and also served as captain.

His latest goal was in Ivory Coast scoring against the former African Champions during the 2017 African Nations Cup decider in Bouake.

However, Ivory Coast booked their place with a 1-1 draw against Sierra Leone but once again Kamara was the highlight because despite local television showed no slow-motion Kei Kamara’s last touch might have crossed the line that could have put Sierra Leone in front.

Medo Kamara scores screamer for Al Kuwait in Cup triumph

It was a great evening for Sierra Leone international, Mohamed Medo Kamara, who scored a stunning goal for his Kuwaiti side on Tuesday as they defeated Kazma SC 4-2 at the Jader Al-Amed International Stadium.

The victory means Kamara won his second trophy since moving to Kuwait. The Former Bolton and HJK Helsinki midfielder, Kamara, 29 fired an unstoppable right-footed volley into the top corner from 30-yards to put his side on the road to a 4-2 victory in the 8th minutes.

Syrian striker Firas Al Khatib double their lead with a 17th-minute header after receiving a neat cross from teammate Sami before Juma Saeed, and Fahad Al – Hajri wrapped up the victory.

Kamara was at his absolute best as he helped Al Kuwait dominated possession in the middle of the park dictating play.

The goal was the Sierra Leonean third since joining the Kuwaiti Premier League outfit. Both sides ended up with ten men.

The Emir’s Cup is one of the biggest and the country’s most popular sports event. The maiden edition was first played in 1972 and was won by Al Ahli.

Meanwhile, The Kuwaiti-based club, Al Kuwait SC a few weeks ago also won the 55th edition of the Prince Cup for the 12th times in their history after beating Qadisiya 5-3 on penalties.

Medo Kamara is on the verge to land his third trophy – Al Kuwait leading Al Arabi with just a point from their opening ten league matches.
