South Africa for the first time will represent Africa in FIFA Women’s World Cup in France 2019 after dispatching Les Aiglonnes 2-0 in Cape Coast on Tuesday.

The Banyana Banyana will take on Super Falcons of Nigeria in Sunday’s final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Nigeria beat Cameroon 4-2 on penalties to reach the final and also pick the first of three tickets to the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019.

Ngozi Ebere scored the decisive spot-kick for Nigeria after Cameroon twice missed, once through star player Gaelle Enganamouit after a goalless extra-time.

Elsewhere, a goal in either half was enough to steer South Africa to a 2-0 semi-final victory over Mali.

Nigeria have won the last two tournaments, beating Cameroon on both occasions in the final.

South Africa and Nigeria are the first two African representatives for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
