IK Frej defender Alie Sesay could make his comeback to the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars against Lone Stars of Liberia in Monrovia.

Liberia requested a friendly with the Sierra Leone Stars as part of programs marking its 171st Independence Day celebration at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.

Sesay, who was first called up to the Sierra Leone national team in October 2014 made his Leone Stars debuts against Cameroon in the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on 11th October 2014.

The 23-year-old defender has however limited to two caps for the national team.
The former Leicester City and Barnet FC defender can also play across the back four and in central midfield.

Former Partick Thistle right-back Mustapha Dumbuya, former Olimpija Ljubljana attacker Julius Wobay also included.

The combative defender has been one of the most consistent players for the Swedish Superettan side since joining them in 2017 from Barnet FC.

He has already made 9 appearances from fifteen matches in the Swedish second tier league this season.

Unlike Sesay, Bristol City 19-year-old shot-stopper is also expected to be included in John Keister’s squad for Liberia’s Independence Day showdown and could make his Sierra Leone debut.

Sesay was born in Sierra Leone but travelled to Europe when he was three, after settling in the Netherlands for the last 15 years.

The impressive stopper on Sunday was in goal for the City U23’s against Bath City when they were defeated 2-1 at Twerton Park.
